i hear stuff like this all the time, and it always sits weird with me. as someone who loves buying flowers for myself, or getting them from someone, i’ve never been able to shake the feeling that real flowers matter in a way fake ones don’t.
for the longest time, i didn’t really know why. i just knew i wanted them around me. but the answer was always right there, and only when i'm walking home with a bouquet in my hands did i finally notice.
flowers represent the cycle of life.
they’re born, they grow, they get old, and they die. their entire existence happens faster than ours, but that’s exactly why they feel so meaningful. they remind me that everything has its time, and that endings aren’t something to fear if you made the most of it before you left.
maybe that’s why i keep them close. they make me feel okay with the idea that life moves, changes, and eventually rests. and somehow, that’s comforting.
