The street lamps give off a warm glow
A car rolls past with elegant body lines
Folks lined balconies looking below
For this was the way of old city lives
LED lighting shines ever so bright
Folks are now glued to their phones
Light pollution downs out the stars of the night
And the world looses it's colorful tones
The mall was open sometimes past ten
The smell of pretzels fill the air
Top tier music from shops inviting you in
And crowds off people all without care
But now they sit empty and unlit
The shops are never opened, not for a day
The building deemed unfit
Order online, why should one come stay?
Progress is real and progress is fast
Look to the future and forget the past
