To be honest, Rain never really thought. Not in a moment of action. His brain was locked in a state of act first, think later, as it tended to be in his empowered state. His only focus was on the greatsword heavy in his hands and his feet as he advanced into hot Nether soil.

After finding Evergreen unconscious —thankfully alive— in front of a portal, it seemed like the next best course of action was to investigate.

Stepping through the swirling purple of the portal's frame, his heavily armored body shivered. Blame him, but his past experiences in the Nether were far from good. (He ignores the memory of her resurfacing faintly. He has long since moved on, as painful as it was to do. She was no longer; just the warped, brainwashed monster the Nether had made out of her.)

The Nether's red-hot soil was just as he remembers it. His armor takes the blunt of it, but he still feels warm on his feet, so he moves quickly. The way from the Nether portal was paved with crushed netherrack. It was easy to follow along, his subconscious latched on and drove him further down the trail. His mind busied itself with the many scenarios he was about to face.

Was it a kidnapping? Or a careless spy from the Nether Empire? Actually, scratch that— the Nether Empire only sent their most powerful to the Overworld, and no powerful being willingly left bread-crumbs in their tracks. So maybe a kidnapping. But no one seemed to be missing from their group earlier. Other than Evergreen, of course, but he never really questions him. Not when his days had been full of— well, everything. He had barely slept a wink the following weeks, he doesn't have the brainpower to focus on something like that. Maybe someone from the tavern? Ciara was out and about somewhere. Kane? Where was Kane?

His feet skid to a stop in front of a giant building of nether bricks. His feet plant firmly into the ground, somewhat sinking into the pliant netherrack. Like the sand of the Overworld beaches, if not a little rough and hard. His ears suddenly hone in, trying to catch a whiff of noise inside, too unwilling to actually go in head-first.

Initially, its silent. Or quiet enough for him not to catch it. He may be superhuman, but not in those capabilities. His ears are long damaged after so many battles.

Then he hears it.

Clang. Talking. Kane's voice.

Another collision between metal, rapid and undoubtedly hostile. The metals hiss with every scrape against each other. Just as Rain readies himself to join, he hears whizzing. And a shot. Its too quick to be an arrow. And the only person he knows with contraptions to fire such ammunition are Azure and Kane.

He's well enough to shoot, then. Good.

Rain's knees fold as he shifts his weight. His empowered state crackles inside of him, painting his vision a vivid purple. The added power he sends straight to his feet. One, two…

He leaps, easily surpassing the rotting nether brick wall. In the air, he's already drawing the greatsword from his back, hands tight around its worn handle, the weight familiar as he wields it down as extra momentum.

Rain crashes right in the middle of the scene, he has no time to take in the faces around him. His only thoughts are to attack and protect.

The dark metal of his greatsword meets weak golden matching swords. The person who dares to wield anything against the great Dragon Tamer stumbles back, landing on their back, before swiftly shifting onto their feet again. Yet, once they are upright again, Rain is met with crackling white eyes. One's that have haunted his nightmares. Of the person who took everything from him. And of his everything.

His thoughts sit oppressed in his empowered state, allowing him focus on deflecting the white-hot lighting sent his way. The sheer magical power sends him back a few paces, but he's dealt with worse. Yet, the magic doesn't simply deflect. It merges with the heavy blade in his hands, lighting it up in sporadic, random bursts of light.

All at once, he feels the power rush through him, and he cannot bear the searing feelings that come with. In a burst, he lets out the contained, foreign magic fester in a radius around him. A large lighting embodies the urge he releases, striking the inside of the crumbling building in a quick bout of released energy.

The force of it seems to shake up the enemy, as they stumble back. Just one step forward, swing just the right way, and it'll be done—

Hauntingly white eyes give way to a comforting black. His feet pause instinctively. Fiery blonde hair whips in front, messed up from grueling fighting. A shocked gaze that examines him, just as he's examining them. Them?

Her. Her. The dark horns stand out strikingly against the bright hair, standing proud and tall on top of her head. Her robes… were just the same as back then. If not tattered and torn and burned.

Abigail…?
