To be honest, i LOVE romance in a sense. like my k!nks are like, hald holding, cuddling, fluff... and such idk
but one thing i will forever openly hate constant romanticisation of sensitive themes and smut.
like we do not need 8 damn pages of warnings of the contents of the book And majority of the book is the 'sumbissive' lead just being tortured or what. I'm not talking about modern day books like Colleen Hoover or whatever laughing and newborn's balls (it's an actual thing in a book btw 💔) i'm talking about BL and GL aswell. Yes i am looking at THOSE kind of books too because no matter what gender, height, sexuality, religion it may be, if it's bad i will hate it. (same goes for ppl).

The constant romanticisation of toxic relationships and s3xual assult really pisses me off the most. it's not even decent wirting if it's just put there for shock value or to add 'the mood' like bitch, what mood? It's just pure insesitivity towards the audience, especially to those who had experience it before. I mean i can understand if it's the narrative.. at least.. try to make it look as bad as it is...

Another thing is that the constant 'smut' is such... odditiy. some happen because it's a supposed 'one night stand' or just complete s3xual assult to the submissive lead. (Jinx and Killing Stalking). It's so fucking weird to put these and further drag it on for pages and pages till no end, what is the purpose of it aswell? The 'smut' plot that ends up going nowhere and only there for who knows what reason?? It's an insensitive concept towards any audience, both the general audience and outside aswell.

OH and i won't forget oen thing. The constant weirdness of the dominant partner of the lead. like 6'9 half warewolf half vampire, alpha, mafia gang leader, quantillionare, looks maxer whatever bullshit. like why do you call the submissive lead swinkle pie or kitten or 'little lamb'. it's.. so fucking weird and degrading. and the other part is how they often commit crimes to get to the submissive lead. i mrmeber watching a video where the dominant lead comitted murder on her own children because her husband paid slihgtly more attention on them. what kind of insanity have we reach dawg?? How are people turned on by this???

I hope i didn't overstep on this one, but no one seemed to talk much of it and i'm a big hater of modern romance. which is why whenever i want to buy a new book i often am wary of it;s contents. but one thing that is truely amusing is that my country allows Collen Hoover and smut books in bookstores while lgbtqa still has no rights. but thats a topic for another time.
