I finally figured out(more like accepted) I was aroace a month ago. I have always known I'm asexual. I think I was afraid of admitting that I was aromantic because I felt that it would mean that I will never be able to have the typical, glorified, 'normal' love society obsesses all over media and conversations. It also made me feel bad because me being aromantic meant I kinda unknowingly lied to my ex as well when they asked me if I truly felt romantic feelings for them.
In the end, I didn't want to end up alone. I want to have that life long partner who I can spend my time with without worrying I'm keeping them from other people.
But it's really hard to find somebody who could stay with me without making me feel I need to change the way I am. I don't think I could ever be convinced that somebody who is not aroace would be completely fine with me as a partner who does not want to do anything romantic or sexual.
In the truth, I've known I was aroace since far back when I realized I was asexual. I'm still scared that I will become lonely as I grow old and my friends find their people. Nevertheless, I hope that I can find a way of being who I am in the fullest.
