Making Friends Online Is Hard

dilemmaaaa desu!!! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))

I think I've said in my second last blog post that it would be a bit shorter than my usual ones, but the amount of names I put just ended up making it the usual length lol...

At the moment my blogs don't really have some type of pattern topic, but the mode topic of discussion I typically write about is comics/anime/manga/tv shows/movies. Today I'm going to talk about something I think a lot more people can actually relate to!

And nooooo, this blog post hopefully won't be too long. Don't worry.


So....


Making friends online is kinda hard!?

Reason 1: Everything feels so... superficial???

I think everyone on this website is pretty cool! And also in general there are cool people on other platforms too, but with the way the internet works it's kinda hard sometimes to connect with people when being honest and vulnerable is one of the things you shouldn't do online (at least from my understanding and knowledge).

It's part of the reason why I really love this website! I don't feel as worried about playing pretend, because everyone here in a way kind of gives off the vibe that they feel the same way I suppose.

Then again, I haven't really gathered the courage/a reason to talk to the people in my kwenk friends list. I sent a message to one of them but they haven't been online ever since making a kwenk account it seems so....

Maybe it's a thing of me having to actively talk to people more! Skimming through the blog posts shows that there's a couple other users apart from our usual active favs who defo take the time to log on. There's also new users too.


Reason 2: People in my age group aren't that easy to find...

I've contemplated numerous times about having my age up on this website, but at the moment it's not there. If you've seen it, then you've seen it. If not, tough luck twin.

Despite that analysing Reason 2's title can definitely give you a vague idea. I'm sure not many of you can relate to this, but for me it is kind of hard to find someone cool to be friends with in my age group that I find on the internet. Websites/apps that enable me to find friends in teh first place is kwenk and discord, but discord has only helped me one luck time for.... obvious reasons.

Maybe it's my lack of effort once again, but it's just a tad bit challenging! Takes a lil bit of effort y'know! Regardless of what you think of the amount of my effort, please lend me tips.... I really want to be friends with people outside my country......


Reason 3: Platforms?? Where?!

I already spoke about this very briefly but I don't think modern social media platforms really enable me to easily make connections. Mutually following someone on instagram is just mutually following each other. Being in the same discord server is just that. Being in the same discord server.

I don't really use tiktok or facebook or tumblr or reddit uh...

Youtube doesn't really enable you to make friends yo. It's a video sharing app/website. (T_T)

See what I'm getting at?

Once again if you have recommendations then PLEASE tell me. Not that this is some kind of urgent issue and that I desperately want friends.
