Hello everyone! I'd love to get to know the folks on the site and even bring some of the writing pieces I've made here :D I'll start taking little snippets out of stories I'm working on and posting them here for people to read. Hopefully they can bring you even a little bit of joy! ^^

Without the light pollution of the city, the stars shone brilliantly above, and reflected into the lake below. The water lapped at its shore in a gentle tempo, and receded with ease. The air, slowly turning brisk with the approaching fall, nipped at the exposed parts of your body, sending a shiver down your spine. It felt like nothing else existed in the world.
The sensation of something warm being wrapped around your shoulders reached you in your daze. Harlequin had wrapped his cape around you. Silently tying the strings for it together, he looked at you with a narrow gaze, full of desire.
“...What’s your aim?” You thought you knew his intentions, but you quickly realized that each time you made an assumption about this man he continued to prove you wrong.
“Isn’t it obvious? I thought you’d be smarter than that, my darling.” He patted your shoulder, admiring his cloak over your body.
At your silence, he met your steely expression, and then relented.
“You’re not the kind of person who I can sway with my typical antics. Roughness, seduction, control. You’d just run from me if I did so, and why would I want that?” He faced you, then crossed his arms. His eyes ran up and down your body. His expression burned with passion, and he covered his face with his hand. He slinked towards you, stepping behind you and laying a hand on your shoulder. Whispering into your ear, “You’re too interesting to let go…I have to go slow, so slow that you won’t even realize your heart is becoming mine.”
“...Like a frog in a pot of water.” You mumbled.
You could feel his grin pressing against your skin.
