hello internet!!!
i am very very new around here lol. so i thought id introduce myself - feel free to do the same; id love to be friends with you all!!!
im tyler and a bigggg emo. i like bands such as mcr and sws and ptv, but also, 'underground' bands like her words kill and picture me broken.
i play guitar and am in an emo band!!! some interests of mine are invader zim, nyan cat, garfield, dan and phil, creepypasta, anime, undertale & deltarune, sally face, and more!!!
if you like any of these or something similar then lets talk about them!!! :3

ps: one more question- what defines an emo? i've heard it's a primarily music-based community, but is there anything else?? i've met a few and they all seem so cool!! okay bye fr now TYY
1) i started with a classical guitar. i then started playing really basic riffs and started to read tab. its really easy to do!!! i also got familiar with the fret board. once i was comfy, i moved onto my favourite songs. can be any genre!!! also messing around with power chords is SUPER fun!! (if you dont know what they are, it's a chord to sound, "powerful". basic chords. so fret 3 on the low e string and fret 5 on the a string is a power chord)
2) electric guitars are SO worth it!!! dont worry about the brands and prices for now, just stick to cheaper ones. however reading articles about cheaper but good quality guitars is good!! also, they dont require that much difficulty to take care of!! eventually youll need to restring the guitar especially if it has a grotty feeling or if the strings are broken, but thats a later problem XD
3) defining emo for me is all about the music like you said!! in terms of differenciating emo from other cultures, its about fashion too!! however i wouldnt get too worked up if you cant exactly dress emo. a pair of jeans or a t shirt or something works! also, creating your own emo band merch for your favourite artists is also a win!! every alt person you meet, whether itll be emo or scene or punk etc, are SO cool. its not cool when theyre a poser in politics :(

my band is an emo and punk band. think mcr meets bullet for my valentine meets a bit of sex pistols and maybe the hives. pretty cool mix if you ask me!!! ^•^
sws - sleeping with sirens. involves the singer who sang, "king for a day" with ptv!!
ptv - pierce the veil. very much known for their, "collide with the sky" album (the blue one with the house if you didnt know!).
