https://archive.org/details/ibroughtyoumybullets/01+-+Romance.mp3
Genre: post-hardcore, emo, punk rock, pop punk
(I take these from the wikipedia so don’t come after me if it’s wrong)
10/10 perfect album, best for fall. Even though this album was recorded with a thight schedule and small budget it’s still in my top 4 mcr albums list lol. When I first listened to this album i didn’t like the raw, screamy vocals from Gerard, but now I definetly do.
Favourite tracks:
3. Demolition Lovers
I like the slower style and quiet part in the middle.
2. Skylines and Turnstiles
First MCR song ever written, i especially like the drums and guitar.
1. Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
I love the vocals (come on, who doesn’t) and the progression of this song. But that one guitar part though..
It was very hard choosing favourite tracks since i love this album very much and every single song is so good.
You can leave your review of this album in the comments! If no one recommends any albums i’m gonna review all the mcr albums. I’m going to update this blog with a new album every day if i remember. XD
(ps. If you know how to add photos to blogs (if it’s even possible) please let me know, i suck at this HTML stuff)
August 28th, Todays album:
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (2004) - My Chemical Romance
Link (Internet Archive)
https://archive.org/details/three-cheers-cd
Genre: emo, alternative rock, pop-punk, post-hardcore, punk rock
10/10 concept album. My Chemical Romance second album, after Bullets. Revenge is also in my top 4 mcr albums list. This one is like a halloween album, some of the tracks have this spooky feeling to them. Revenge is a lot more polished album with a faster sound and songs.
Concept:
A man and a woman are seperated in a gunfight, and the man goes to hell where the devil tells him that the woman is still alive. The devil gives the man an offer that he can be with the woman again if he brings the devil the souls of a thousand evil men. The man agrees to it, so the devil gives him a gun. The album is also very much about real life loss as it is about this story.
Favourite Tracks:
• You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
I love the guitar in the whole album, but especially in this song.
• I’m Not Okay (I promise)
The music video is so great, it’s like a movie trailer. This song is such a classic and also the first mcr song i started listening to, so i had to include it.
• The Ghost Of You
Awesome music video, definetly check it out! The changes between faster and slower parts of this song are done so well in the music video. Now whenever i just listen to the song, i can see the mv.
Extra:
Special mentions ’cause it’s my blog
• Helena
Such a good song, popular for a reason, but i have overplayed it for myself.
• Thank You For The Venom
Probably the fastest MCR song. The guitar riffs are too good to leave it without a mention.
• I Never Told You What I Do For A Living
This one has the best storytelling, i can see the story like a movie in my head when i listen to this.
August 29th Todays album:
The Black Parade (2006) - My Chemical Romance
Link (Internet Archive)
https://archive.org/details/the-black-parade_202406/01+The+End.wav
Genre: emo, alternative rock, pop-punk, hard rock, punk rock, glam rock
10/10 album. This one is definetly in my top 4 mcr albums list. It’s the most famous MCR album, and it also has a really cool concept.
Concept: Storys main character, The Patient, dies from cancer and death comes for him as his strongest memory, which happens to be a marching band he saw as a child. The album also shows parts of his life when he was still alive.
Favourite Tracks:
It’s very hard to choose favourite tracks from this album, since all the songs are so different, but still work really well together. I’m going to pick 5 songs instead of 3 because i can.
5. Dead
I think about this song as the patient coping with dying by being sarcastic. I love the transformation from The End to Dead! It doesn’t really work so well on spotify, but through the link it should.
4. House Of Wolves
This song is about The Patients past. I really like how fun the guitar sounds and also it’s a bit faster song, just like Dead! which i usually like. You should also check out the first version of this song, as it is very different from the final one.
3. Mama
Mama is about war. The Patient served in the war but his mother was against him doing so. The next track, Sleep, is about his time in the war haunting him and not letting him sleep even though he made it out.
2. I Don’t Love You
I think that I Don’t Love You is about letting go of a past love or not loving someone as much as you did yesterday. I like how this song is pretty sad but it still sounds very strong.
1. Famous Last Words
My The Black Parade favourites change all the time but this one is a staple. It’s always at least in my top 5. The music video is great and the song is so strong.
Extra:
• Welcome To The Black Parade
This one is just really overplayed, but it is a great song. It’s not fair leaving it out just because it’s so popular. You can recognise it right away from that first G-note. The music video is also really cool!
• Cancer
Cancer is so sad that i just had to include it. Cancer portrays so much emotion.
• Teenagers
Personally it’s not my favourite, but it’s the most popular mcr song, so i had to mention it. It can be portrayed as part of the story, maybe about The Patients past. He did some bad things in his teenager years. It can also be about how society is really pressuring on teenagers. This one also has a music video that suggests it having it’s own message rather than fitting straight into the story.
• Blood
The extra track that only starts after 90 seconds. It is really strange and different from the rest of The Black Parade. Blood sounds really sarcastic to me. For some reason this song also has a music video, even though it’s probably the least played The Black Parade song. The music video is often viewed as happening right after the video for Teenagers.
I’m reviewing an album that was recommended to me, So This Is How It Is by Nymb, tomorrow. The day after tommorrow I’ll do Danger Days.

Genre: midwest emo, emo, alternative rock, indie rock
8/10 album, score might rise higher since it’s hard for me to like new albums. I started listening to this album without any clue of what it would sound like, but I really happened to like it. The guitar, drums, bass and vocals are really nice. There are quieter and faster parts. I like the singers (Elaine Dotys?) voice, it carries a lot of emotion and the lyrics are also really interesting. ”So, This Is How It Is” is Nymb’s most popular album, but I liked it so much that I will definetly check out their other stuff too!
Favourite Tracks:
It’s really difficult for me to choose favourite songs when I haven’t listened to the album at least 10 times. But I did my best:
3.Finally Fine
I really like the message, if I understood it correctly. Elaine Dotys (if that’s the singer) voice goes so high, it’s so cool! I also like the fact that it’s a bit longer song, well, it’s not that long compared to other songs on this album, like Need For Attention.
2.I, The Fool
I usually don’t really like instrumental songs that much, especially when I like the singers voice, but this song felt really peaceful.
1.Gesündheit = Bon Voyage
This one has super cool drums, guitar and screamy vocals. I’m not that sure of why it’s my favourite but I really like this one!!
I have been looking for a peaceful feeling album like this, so i’m glad it was recommeded to me!
Extra:
Nymb’s most famous song, Rope + Ring, isn’t on an album, but I wanted to check that out as well, here’s the link to that:

August 31st Todays album:
Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys (2010) - My Chemical Romance
Link (Internet Archive)
https://archive.org/details/MCR_danger_days/My+Chemical+Romance+-+Danger+Days/01+-+Look+Alive%2C+Sunshine.mp3
Genre: alternative rock, pop-punk, power pop, pop rock, glam rock, electronic rock
10/10 album. Danger Days is very different from the other MCR albums, but I think all MCR albums are very different to each other. Danger Days sound is just happier. The only bad thing in my opinion is that the concept is very confusing. I’m still giving it a 10 beacuse it doen’t effect the listening experience. I think not knowing the concept makes the lyrics funnier, but even now some of the lyrics are pretty strange. The album also has a character called Doctor Death Defying who is voiced by and shown in the music videos as Steve Righ. He is in three tracks and in them he gives updates on what is happening in the story.
Concept:
The Concept of this album is really confusing to me. It doen’t work on it’s own, but if you take the story from the comic it doesn’t fit with the album. I’m going to explain the concept very quickly, but if you’re interested in learning more about it, there are many Youtube videos covering the concept.
Danger Days is based in the future, year 2019, well, it was the future back then. The story is about a group of Killjoys, that the band memebers are shown as in the Na Na Na and SING music videos. Gerard is Party Poison, Mikey is Kobra Kid, Ray is Jet Star and Frank is Fun Ghoul. Other important characters are The Girl, Doctor Death Defying, Show Pony and Korse (who is played by Grant Morison in the mvs). The Girl is a child who our four Killjoys are trying to protect. Doctor death defying is a popular radio host. Show Pony helps the doctor and is his friend. Korse is on the opposite side of the Killjoys. He is trying to hunt them down. The world is in the aftermath of a nuclear explosion and a company called Better Living Industries (BL/ind) builds a city where everyone is taking pills to not have strong emotions. Everything in the city is grey and everyone acts the same and thinks the same since everything is controlled by BL/ind. There are rebels, called Killjoys, who live in the zones around the city. The zones are dangerous, but there you aren’t controlled by one big company. In the zones the Killjoys survive by stealing from the city and helping eachother out.
Favourite Tracks:
3.S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W
I like how comforting and nostalgic this song feels.
2.Bulletproof Heart
I really like this song. It has some fun guitars and drums. It’s pretty fast and I like how Gerard sings the last yesterday differently than all the other ones. I understand the meaning as a part of the Kiljoys story. Them running away from their old lifes, leaving the safe but grey life in the city behind, being who they really are. But Bulletproof Heart like any song can be understood differently by different people.
1.Planetary (GO!)
I love how fun this song is, but it still has some important themes like the climate change. Planetary (GO!) Makes me wanna jump around! It has a music video, but it’s just live footage with cool lighting. It’s super fun, I recommend watching it.
Extra:
•Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na)
The first single from Danger Days. It has some weird lyrics like
”Oh, let me tell you ’bout the sad man
Shut up and let me see your jazz hands
Remember when you were a madman?
Thought you was batman
And hit the party with a gas can
Kiss me, you animal!”
I have no idea what these lyrics are supposed to mean, but I like how fast and chaotic Na Na Na is. This song has a music video and is the most listened to Danger Days song.
•SING
SING has a really important message. And it’s not a bad song at all. I have heard some hate towards it and I don’t agree with it. SING also has a really cool music video that goes along with the Na Na Na music video.
•Party Poison
The most dancable mcr song. According to what? According to me. It also just is. I like the japanese at the start of the original version. I really like this song, it almost made it in the top 3.
•DESTROYA
I also like this song, but it gets a lower placing, because I can’t listen to this in the car with my parents. But besides that, it’s a great song and definetly would have been in my top 3.
