From what i know yumeshipping is self shipping yourself/a sona that represents you with the canon character of a piece of media.
What i wanted to know is if the yumeship tag falls onto otome game love interest ships? These characters are made for you to think of as "your" boyfriend (like Love and Deepspace), the MC is supposed to be you, logic says to me that yes, but i wanted to ask the experts-
(also i know of people that make an oc to be the MC in their place and that said character isn't them, this i think doesn't fall in yumeshipping yes?)

Before "yumeshipping" had this name it usually consisted of shipping an oc with a canon character, it's always been there but it was only recently that it got a name
Basically, oc/mc still counts as yumeshipping!

In fact I thought selfship was when you shipped the same character together so I was really confused when I saw many people use it to describe yumeship
