Hey hey, hope everyone is doing well and having a good day.

Question off the day: what's that one meal you'll never forget?

Was it because of the meal itself? Was because of where you at it? Was it because of a special someone? What made you never forget it?

Stay well and happy🫶

hope you’re doing well too, but one of my favorite would be Molé or pozole, cause honestly it’s mainly for birthdays or holidays and we don’t really get to have it often, but the way my grandma makes them would always be my favorite :)
what about you? what’re your favorite foods or meals?
Oeh~, that sounds delicious! Mine would be my grandma's Surinamese fried noodles or just anything my grandma makes. Even her rice is amazing because it's so fluffy and sweet and I have reached a point where she might be gaslighting me because each time when I eat rice at her house I ask what she does with her rice and each time it's the same answer: store bought rice and just water. she is either lying to my face or she is a witch but either way I absolutely love her food
On Chinese New Years, I made a large platter of beef and rice, saturated in Korean BBQ sauce. I remember that specifically because of the friends I shared it with. It was a great night. Let's just say there were no leftovers.
I 100% believe that because that sounds really good and a wonderful time with your friends
When i visited america (bc some family moved there) there was a restaurant where a lot of famous people ate and in a Lot of tables there was written who sat there and there was this amazing shrimp with souces it was soooo good
That sounds like a great place but you had me completely hooked when you said shrimp🍤
Ate a spaghetti squash dish a family member made a couple or so years ago and I have not stopped thinking about it since. Basically, it was spaghetti but instead of regular pasta noodles, it was that squash. It tasted so good, I think everything was made by scratch. It was also a dish I had at a time when I was mentally not feeling well to the point any food smells and tastes made me feel ill, but this did not. It made me feel normal and full.
What a lovely dish. I'll definitely have to try make my own. stay well and happy
A meal I will never forget was the lunch I had for my 16th birthday back in 2023. I was in Florida at the time visiting my mother, and we went to St. Augustine to shop and explore, as it was one of my favorite places to go back when I lived in Florida. I can't remeber the name of the resturant we visited, but I do remember that it was gorgeous; the meal I ordered was grits and chicken, and to this day it remains the best meal I've ever had! IT WAS DELECTABLE!
OMG GRITS ARE SO UNDERATED. you NEED to try shrimp and grits its so bomb
NOOO I WILL NOT STAND FOR SHRIMP HATE jkjk MORE FOR ME lolz BUT sausage with grits is ALSO very good
That does sound absolutely DELECTABLE, but I do have to agree with Nizca. Sorry I'm a shrimp guy
Reading all these comments is making me hungry! A meal I will always hold dear is my grandfather's curry goat. We had it every Thanksgiving. The meat would fall off the bone, oh my gosh. I think why it's so important to me is not only because it was delicious (DUH) but because it was a way I could connect with my culture.
I HAAATEEE shrimp unfortunately  but chicken or sausage with grits are da goat fr
It's hard to choose, mostly since my memory is kinda bad. I think it would have a meal I had years ago when I was younger. I dont even remember wht food we ate but I have a vivid memory of being at my cousins house, celebrating the new year. We were outside in the dark and my uncle made a small fire to roast marshmallows at. I remember how cold it was and how fascinated I was with the fire and sparklers we got. What I loved the most about it was how we were all spending time together. It was nice, thank you for reminding me of it :)
It's the little things the matter most, even as simple as a small campfire with the family :)
Not a meal per se but one time my grandma during the summer came back from Food4Less early in the morning and came back with some groceries. She had this little orange looking fruits in a clear back and she gave them to all of my cousins, sister and me. Genuinely maybe it’s the nostalgia of it, being a little 3-4 year old kid, hanging with my cousins and sister (all older than me 2 years plus), summer where the fun haha never ended, and early in the morning with the shine bursting through the door she had and illuminated the tile she had in her house, it was just great. And after I ate it, swear it tasted just like candy and the sweetest and softest thing I’ve ever tasted and I couldn’t stop eating them and I just wanted more. Haha eventually me and my cousins at them all and we were all bummed but my grandma got them for us the next day. These ones however were too sour, maybe not as ripe at the beauties I’ve eaten the day before, they were THEE perfect amount of sweet and just a HINT of sour that got you hooked. So soft and had the littlest fuzz on them (like peach fuzz) and they were so tiny and cute and wow. I’ll never forget that experience, even if my cousins and sister did but that genuinely just made me happy and I never knew I could taste something so so good.
Wow that's sounds absolutely delicious and what a wonderful memory. I hope you get to experience more of those special moments
It was a little pot pie I ate as a little kid after playing on the wii with my mom. I don’t know why i remember it so vividly, but I think I was just really happy about it
