C1oudVoyager in The Lounge

I love the kinds of movies in which a whimsy filled child interacts with magic in a way where the plot doesn't get too in the way of it's magic-ness. (Examples- Slumberland, The Bridge to Terabithia, Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Pete's Dragon, BFG, The Chronicles of Narnia, How to Train your Dragon, Where the Wild Things Are, and any Ghibli movie basically). Does anyone have any recs for this particular kind of film? ≽(◉˕ ◉ ≼マ

Might not exactly be what you're looking for but since you mentioned the BFG, I'd also recommend James and the Giant Peach, Matilda and The Witches. These are movie adaptations of Roald Dahl's books
I've watched James and the Giant Peach & Matilda! Haven't watched The Witches though... Thanks for the recs! :0
i'd recommend little witch academia! technically it's both a short film and a television series made after that, i love it's depiction of a magic school
Ouu I've heard of little witch academia! I'll def have to check it out now
its kinda fever dream-esque like Spy Kids, but i thought of Arthur and the Invisibles reading these titles you listed :o def Bridge to Terabithia vibes. and obviously Coraline can never be overmentioned c:
GAH I looked up Arthur and the Invisibles and it's the EXACT vibe YAYYY ty for the rec :DD
Prehaps the little prince?? i haven't watched it myself yet but i've read the original story, it seems nice ^^
I would recommend Return to Oz, the movie scared me as a child, but it was so good rewatching it.
