Genuine question. Who play gacha games, like, unironicly. I tried one genshin but I didn't see anything worth playing other the oversexualized characters. I think it is just bait for for your money and pedos who seek "legal" cp. You can correct me but it's just my opinion

I used to play it.. and I did like the story aspect of the game. I was most invested in characters I liked and liked seeing them develop throughout the story quests.

Many Genshin fans are well aware and even hate the oversexualization in the game, but still play and try to ignore it.

Another big reason I was into it is bc of the fandom. I loved seeing and understanding the memes.

Oh also it was fun to play co-op with friends.

But I totally agree in the end, and I probably won’t pick it up again.
I played it a few years ago when I was in high school, for about a week. I discovered it from an ad. I didn't realise at the time that it had a big fandom to it.

I kinda lost interest in the story because I kept forgetting what I was meant to do and where I was meant to go. So I barely progressed the story and ended up going everywhere except where I wasn't meant to go. It did have a very cool map and weapons. Probably wouldn't play again tho

It is a cool concept from what i saw tho (NOT THE GATCHA AND OVERSEXUALISED CHARACTERS)
I played it for about 2-3 years since the first week of its official release before stopping. It was how I spent my time with my friends during the pandemic. The battle system was pretty fun at that time. The oversexualization has gotten worse over the years. Game devs did try to "fix" this by redesigning some of their characters and giving players the option to switch to PG13 outfits but it's more like a "here damn" instead of stopping it. All gacha games are usually predatory in terms of monetization. The issue of Genshin being seen as CP bait also goes beyond the game because their fandom overlaps with anime fandoms in general and unfortunately, in these spaces, some people are disgusting pervs and literal preds.
Okay so kinda long rant because i got so much to talk abt this game.
I used to play it so much back then for at least 3 years, Genshin bonded me and my family so much more in our free time. I loved the older characters and world design aswell.

However, it is true, it is not really any worth playing other than the oversexualisation and waifubaiting of characters by now. Take Nod-krai and Natlan for example. As much i love character designs and personalities, a lot of the characters of both nations really didnt suit my fancy. especially if i'm playing at the male mc, i just get dragged into 'romantic tension' kind of situations it's getting uncomfortable atp.

But the lolibait is truely one of Genshin's problems, it;s noticeable with the ammount of girl child-sized characters (except Kachina and Klee which both are canonically children which i'll excuse them). But one prime example of an adult being a lolibait is defintiely Citlali, i used to think she was some teenager when i first saw her animation in her testing area, the plush, the pouting, etc. But she's just old as hell. But the story didnt justify her, i just feel like the title 'Granny' is just slapped onto her deisgn-wise, sometime personality wise. But i won't look much into it
i actually have WAY more to talk about this game but i don't wanna write a book so i'll leave at here 3
I play Arknights because Terra is cool. Also, I get a dopamine hit whenever I pull a character with 6 stars. How much did I spend? I'm no whale! I pull well because Fortune smiles warmly at me all the time.
That i get, I spend some money on skins in cs and hats on tf2 myself.
hmmm. . . i think there are people genuinely invested in the story, even if they seem rare. I dont play gachas personally (no money + games are usually too heavy for both my pc and my phone) but ive come across characters with interesting lore that i personally like. of course the oversexualization is rampant, considering the target audiences, but i think some games are improving in that regard. . .? or maybe im only seeing the few handpicked things i like from the games. . .
limbus company is a good one

as for other gachas, idrc about the oversexualization or the lolibait. they're such non-issues imo, it's just that the hoyoverse games fail to tell good stories as they are far too busy with making characters likeable enough with shallow backstories to appeal to the whales. reverse 1999 is pretty good though
Sorry, but limbus company just don't speak to me, it's kind of mid
I play Honkai: Star Rail, played Honkai impact and Genshin Impact, such as some dating gacha games, kind of like Love and Deepspace, and also rithmic games with a gacha sistem.

Tbh, I always start playing for the astetics, the art style and if I like one character. After that, I obsess over the story and some characters (not in a bad or unhealthy way), and then I stay because continuing to play these games require true effort on building your account slowly, pluss you need to manage recourses very carefully too. I like crying about how much I need one specific character and get so happy when I get it (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡

I do hate when a game that's intended for teens and/or kids have such oversexualized characters, specially if the characters are kids or teens themselves... (;へ:)
Like, if you want to sexualize your characters and get a mayor audience, make ALL of your characters adults and label it as an adult game. There are plenty of these, and people love them! There's literally no issue there...

I've never played anything like that, if Project Sekai doesn't count. Honestly, it's never really been my kind of game, and I remember installing Genshin once and giving it a try, but I stopped playing it after just one day. Plus, you’re right about how oversexualized it is, and I don’t like characters that are unnecessarily childlike. What I see most about Genshin on social media are the characters that look like kids O﹏o
i play wuthering waves whenever my pc decides not to crash from it, and from what I've seen it doesn't suffer from the oversexualized characters as much as Genshin does - imo, its much more story and battling based than gacha so its a good alternative to genshin!!
I like flashy things and anime characters:3 But in all seriousness I'd say I'm playing gacha games a lot due to their availability, easy to get into them and ngl I do think some characters are pretty and yeah, some designs are real bad, but it's not rlly all about the characters, I'm more interested in enjoyable gameplay and collecting so gacha games are fun because I can just pull as much as I can and have different teams with different mechanics they use, which I absolutely love. And you don't have to necessarily spend money, I don't spend anything and I genuinely enjoy a lot of gacha games! It all comes down to what ppl like about the game, really. Gacha games have a lot in them imo, just might seem to people that don't play these games that they're "problematic" but I think gacha games have a lot of good fun in them and not just the negative aspects.
It's been almost four years that I've been playing arknights and I keep on playing because of the characters, their designs, their stories, the world-building,(sometimes the music) and also for the gameplay .( still i never forget that it is a gacha and that they are a lot of predatory ways to make you spend your money)
I play honkai star rail, I like the gameplay and stories of the characters and the lore itself. I feel like in star rail they are slightly less sexualized than in genshin too… TLDR: I like it for story, characters and gameplay which is casual friendly
a lot of my friends who I know who play stuff from the same studio they play it for like the story and stuff I think its still a lil weird
genshins overhyped and a lot of the fans are gooner weirdos, I used to play cookie run kindgdom in 6th grade I quit cus my laptop wouldn't let me update it
