I wanna know why i hate when homophobic ppl ignorantly engage with queer content, like as in they don’t know its queer, they like it, and if they find out it is- they will hate on it like its the worst sin god has written abt. Idk why they annoy me sm when i probably get into content that has roots i don’t agree with 2—

i mean we’re all more ignorant than we know or like to admit no matter how much we try not to be, idk?

Also dunno if saying that who’s specifically on my mind being arab ppl and Mashrou Leila is useful context.

Me being annoyed by that sounds as stupid as being annoyed that ppl don’t know that some famous old painter with world-wide known paintings was probs gay or smth.

Does sum1 understand any proper sentence i js said cuz i dont think i do much…

This is sooo real. But I kinda understand why. Well for me if I like something, for example a song and then I find out the artist is problematic and I don't want to support them I find something else to listen to but I still admit that the song they made was good even though the artist is not. So same can go for homophobes BUT the difference is when they start to dislike the song too because then it's like brother, nothing changed. But since you mentioned religion briefly I'd want to say that I hate when religious ppl say they are homophobic because it's a sin. I guess it is ( I'm atheist so I didn't read the Bible or whatever) but you have your own fuking head and you can think for yourself. I have a trans gay friend and he is christian so yes you can be religious and not homophobic. I'm totally okay when someone is religious and it has good impact on their life but some people feel like they just follow rules without thinking of why the rule should be considered reasonable.
Its like a switch in their head that makes them loath it the second it’s anything gay without asking why they even feel that way, like damn…

I feel like ive never heard a reason of why queerness is wrong in someone’s eyes without it immediately being “its a sin.” And just simply “wrong.” ?

And yea like if it wasn’t a sin in the book, would they still hate on it?? And the same ppl that do every other thing their god told them not to, draw the line at anything queer? At this point im thinking of it as just the way they grew up and what the ppl around them accepted- well, they still go against some of that..

So i think in the end someone can go against a whole religion but still be too scared to do the same with society? That’s the most logical thing my brain came up with cause ive seen it first-hand. The importance and practice of religion in their life is so small yet the disgust and homophobia is huge, so it’s like it’s not even abt religion anymore but they still only reason with it being a sin?

If any other reason, it could be “heterosexuality is the normal thing and how life is created and will continue” or “humans might not know why but god commands it” and more stuff abt god and some abt the family…

And on that thought of mine abt islam, i wish i read my own religion’s book more cause apparently what most people believe is what those who explain the book say, but who said that their perspective is the right and there’s no other? If those whose explanation for god’s words being that he didn’t say homosexuality is wrong were of higher numbers than the ones who said otherwise, then i think so many muslims would somehow see homosexuality as the norm.

Dang i feel like i strayed a little bit from the main topic… ?
