hey guys! im working on an animation series similar to mtv downtown, daria and beavis & butthead. I was wondering if anyone could give me some character ideas (outfits, personality types) or tips for world building within animation or anything

Make sure u have a solid beginning middle and end, i think sometimes ppl lose the plot.

i think it would be fun to pick three (or however many main characters you need) colors, then design a character inspired by each one. not in a way where they look theyre from that movie inside out, but like a good way to keep solid character directions distinct

Make a guy who's paranoid about someone puting things into his drinking water and food. He's always scared and aware of most things that are happening but always comes to conclusions that are a bit off, like, they are true and it's scary but some things don't line up are are just straight up bs so no one ever believes his, but he's not lying at all

He's just background character, not very important, but you can tease some ideas for next episode using his paranoid schizo conspiracy theories as plot device and you would not to wory if your ideas would change because he never tells full truth and sometimes he just says random things,

i like that idea. if a main character did that i think it would be funny too. it might be wasted on a side character if they arent seen as often

giving each main character (or/and the show as a whole!) a song that matches, be it in the lyrics, in the band's intent, or in the meaning the song has or the meaning you see that song as, or just it's vibe; it's a great help to center personalities, for ex. :)
