I've seen a lot of movies in the cinema this year. All of them good like Coyote vs Acme, Iron Lung, Send Help, and recently Resident Evil. And later this week I'm going to see Clayface, and hopefully next week I'll see Wildwood. (Wildwood is made by the same people who made Boxtrolls & Coraline.)

Here'a little history behind a quintessential bossa nova standard: O barquinho (The little boat)!

It was written and composed in 1960 by Roberto Menescal and Ronaldo Bôscoli, with the first recording of it made in 1961 by Maysa Matarazzo in her "Barquinho" album.

Bôscoli, who was with Maysa at the time, became upset with the way Maysa sung the song, since Maysa was used to sing in a very strong manner in many of her previous samba-canção albums, as opposed to a calm voice meant for bossa nova. The song didn't get received well by the public and it wouldn't receive a lot of recognition by compared to other bossa nova songs like Garota de Ipanema or Concorvado.

In 1985, Nara Leão, along with long-time friend Roberto Menescal would perform this song live across the world in Japan, becoming one of the most popular songs sung by Nara. The acoustics of the guitar, along with her amazing voice gave O barquinho the attention it deserved. I recommend listening to both Maysa's and Nara's version of this awesome song! :D

HAIII GUYS I am so excited because we have a 2day break from school this week and I will finally start working on my big project. MAKING MONEY BY SEWING. Aaaah .My plan is to make ties, hair bows, skirts, bags and headbands. I am the best at making ties though. BUT I kinda need help. I don't a have a clue what people actually want and what will sell. dudes :(( i was supposed to meet up with two of my friends that i see once a year for halloween and hang out,, one of them goes to college in another state and she was gonna drive to meet us, but two weeks ago somebody ran into her car :(( and she has to get it fixed so she wont be able to come,,, i was just so disappointed :(( i see her maybe once or twice a year if im lucky,, im still gonna try and hang out with the other friend,,, im just so saddened :(( shes hopefully getting her car fixed soon,,, i just feel so bad for her bc i know she was also really looking forward to meeting us :(( and im a bit closer to her than the other girl so i was gonna talk about some movies and stuff we both like
