when the text is all one giant block :sob: please break up your text i have no clue where to focus
hii i have 0 css knowledge can you show how you did your chatbox skin? i love it
when character development is too straight forward or too quick... like, I know that this time consuming and stuff but sometimes, it's too quick and it mades me loose interest T_T
This type of "character progression":
page 1: "I'm so horrible, aaaaaa"
page 2, after one conversation: "You're right! Everything's not so bad!"
if characters feel like they aren't themselves or if the dialogue is corny like i get it I wrote fanfic with bad dialogue when i was younger but i cannot STAND it now
when a character is too perfect... like nothing is ever their fault and they arent bad at anything and always win, it just makes any "conflict" boring
This is so so real.... Like Mary Sues are fine sometimes but if the protagonist has like no character development then what are we doing
the moment i hear the word "kitten"
SO MANY EPITHETS i was reading a fic once and they straight up refused to use character's names, "the raven haired teen" its ok, you can just say Age
I’m gonna sound ridiculous but my pet peeve is when they write dialogue like this:

- Hi I’m saying dialogue
- Yo I’m replying to the dialogue

I prefer:
“Hi I’m saying dialogue!” Person A said.
Person B replied, “Yo I’m replying to the dialogue.”

The first one, with the dashes, makes it so difficult to read :<
okay listen, when i write like the second one i feel like theres only so many "replied x, sighed x, exclaimed x, protested x" yadda yadda, like yes im not a very good writer but like how do i stop that cuz its gets so boring i feel. i feel its easier the other way idk. im not disagreeing just asking for advice, especially when the dialog is conversation heavy (also feel free to dm answer lol)
Omg I get you!! I struggle with that too LOL. Honestly, the way I get around it is if it’s strictly dialogue between two characters, and it’s obvious who’s speaking, I’ll just omit the verb.

Person A and B sat across each other at a table.

Person A spoke, “I’m speaking.”

“I’m replying.”

It’s made clear that Person B replied, even without a verb, cuz ur brain filled in the blanks and knows the situation, yknow!! The other thing is checking a thesaurus for other ways of saying “A spoke” or “B guffawed”. And finally the third option is to just accept writing “replied” 500 times HAHA, as a reader I’m not picky when it comes to vocab and truly don’t care if I see the word “shouted” six times, as long as the plot of the writing is good and gets across yk!!

My initial comment was more so about the usage of dashes because my eyes don’t register it as dialogue when it’s written that way (QwQ), but ofc if the plot is good I’ll continue regardless of how it’s written!
Lmao not me responding to the wrong message
An alternative people can try is to describe dialogue for example,

A asked what color is the sky and B answered that it was blue
