For starters, my dad plays guitar, so I play around with it a little too!! I used to take piano lessons and that taught me a little bit of music theory, but they were once a week on Saturdays and they didn't last very long so I don't know as much as I would like to, hah...

I can do a few cover songs on guitar and have written a couple little things too! I've started using more complex chords over time, but its probably jsut because I like covering a lot of bossa nova songs since my dad also used to listen to and play a lot of bossa nova.

If I were in a band I woud love to make some bossa or indie type songs! I guess my main influences would be Lamp and Jack Stauver, because I really the po feel the two of them have in common, no matter how vastly different their styles are.
Guitar is so cool! I have an old guitar from my grandfather so I'm trying to teach myself how to play it and it's going pretty well I'd say.
I play cello and I really enjoy orchestral music, so playing in another orchestra might still be fun. That being said, playing popular music is super fun so I could honestly play for any number of bands or groups. Like for example I love playing Nirvana on my cello and playing Christmas carols in my family's living room is one of my favorite things about Christmas.
If I could play another instrument it'd be a saxophone or a guitar, and honestly more contemporary music would be super fun to play in a band with those instruments as well.
Mixing rock/metal or electro sound with orchestral cover are always sooo cool!! and saxophone is also a very cool instrument :DD (love it in ska musics!!)
Ooh Nirvanan on cello sounds really interesting !! At some point i really wanted to learn any string instrument like viola or cello
I've been playing guitar for 9years now... but I cannot play as much as I can :/
I'd love to play in a band, but i'm always too shy to start convincing ppl to create a band. But I've done a lot of jams with friends and it was soooo cool, like maybe one of the best moment of my life! I'd love to play math rock or midwest emo :P
Alsi I'd love to learn drums :D
I don't think I've ever listened to math rock before (or maybe i have and just forgot lols). I hope you'll get to play guitar more eventually though!! And drums are so cool I once had the opportunity to play them when I was younger it was loads of fun!
Also really do hope you'll get to form a band one day! The idea is so cool I would love to do so as well hehe
I play French horn and trumpet, and I took band classes in middle and high school. I'm actually going to be in my university's marching band so I'm super excited about that because I can travel all over the United States to play at our football team's games. I know music theory pretty well I think..? I forget more technical info sometimes but I understand the stuff you need to play.
I lowkey don't know what genre I would play tbh.. being in a big band on trumpet would be cool I guess lol. I was planning to join a community orchestra when I move to play on French horn since that's my main instrument :p
Woah french horn is so cool!! I hope you have fun in your uni's marching band. Apart from trumpet and french horn, are there any other instruments you would have loved to play?? I hear brass instruments are really hard on the lungs, haha...
I always really loved the bassoon so that would be really cool to learn!! I also would learn a string instrument (maybe cello....?) if I could
oh that's so awesome :]] I hope you get to learn them one day :D
I used to take piano lessons, but I hated them. Now, I wish I stuck with it. I have a keyboard, but I have to stick to actually practicing. I've been using Simply Piano to teach myself.

I'd also love to learn the accordion!! I have borrowed a twelve-bass one from a family member. The problem is figuring out where I can learn to play.

I'm torn between whether I would rather be in a band or be a solo artist. Being in a band sounds cooler, but I'd like to make my own songs on the side. Either way, I'd either make power pop songs or theatrical songs like Will Wood and Machinery of the Human Heart.
I used to use simply piano at some point too lols!! Hopefully you'll find accordion lessons somewhere someday. I totally get thst last part too of wanting to make your own songs on the side too :D
I played tuba back in high school band. It's been years since I've played, I kinda miss it. I have a ukelele, but I only know how to play a single song. Other than that, that's all I know.

I think I know enough about music theory to make music, not certain.

If I were in a band, the genres of music I'd like to make are maybe rock and electronic, not 100% sure.
Tuba's cool! How do you think it would work in an electronic/rock setting?? I've yet to hear any kind of rock with brass but it sounds like a cool concept tbh
I play Alto, Tenor, and Bari Sax <33 not much anymore since I left highschool but I still love my instrument very much (current sax I own broke- saving for a new one!) and I'm absolutely terrible at string instruments but I've been trying to learn bass this summer! I got one for Christmas last year and I love it...id love to learn how to write music one day and make my own songs and stuff, but for now I just noodle around!
Im honestly trying to get some of my homies to start a rock/ska band with me and learn together ahaha
I play drums in my spare time, but music theory is but a mere myth to me, i mostly learn by ear or sight :3
I played Trombone all through middle and high school! Hilariously, I only chose that because when I was in Middle school Undertale was massive and I was like "Oh! Let me play the funny Sans instrument" then I proceeded to play it for 7 years PHHT
sooo I can play the piano and guzheng (not as well as piano but still something). Used to take exams on music theory but forgor like 90% of it lmao + fk music theory who cares as long as it sounds good (not a good idea hehe but wtv).

Traditional folk music? Artcore? Maybe rock? Some jazz is good too. Honestly everything seems fun to me sooo... Rather than favourite, it's more of a "good at it" thing. I'm better at composing orchestral bgms or piano pieces than anything. DAWs are a pain in the ass....
I used to play bass for a while until I fricked up the strings, but I mainly sing anyways. I sung in my high school choir for about 3 years now.
