Good day/evening to you, dear reader of this post!

It is currently very early morning for me and although I've been running on 4-5 hours of sleep on average lately (which is clearly not enough), today my body has decided to surprise me even further by not being able to fall back asleep after 3 hours (don't think that's good either).

Although something good did come out of this. Besides the sound of my cat aggressively munching on his kibbles nearby, it is quite peaceful. And the smell of sweet coffee along with the taste of comforting solitude is more than nice.

So that got me wondering - is there anyone here who has tried getting up early consistently on purpose just to have this quiet to themselves while the rest of the world around them hasn't woken up yet? If so - how do/did you keep going to sleep early a habit?

P.S. A photo of mine of geranium and snake plant leaves with the bleak morning sky in the background.

I naturally wake up fairly early for my job as a teacher, but brute forcing myself to wake up earlier has really been a matter of literally just splashing my face with water in the morning. Shock into action!!
Oh my, I really admire teachers and their line of work. Thank you for what you do!

And yeah, that is a good way to come alive in the morning due to the cold water activating our sympathetic nervous system so we're up and running. However, I don't really struggle with waking and getting up. It's a bit *too* easy for me actually... that's why I was curious about the "going to sleep early" part specifically, hahahah.

Thank you for your comment nonetheless! And I really like the way your profile looks, with the GIF and the "X" when you hover over the profile picture. The colours are really nice too! (I am very biased but still)
I've never consistently done it but I've had many times where I needed to get up or wake up early for performances/practices.

I natural wake up better early in the mornings and also do struggle with sleeping on time, I think it's best to look into what time ranges your circadian rhythm is at. That way you plan out what time you need to mentally isolate yourself to properly focus on sleeping

Another tip could be to do something to tire yourself out. But yeah I think allowing yourself to manage and plan when you should be "in bed" even if it's just laying there would help?? Idk (โ ;โ ลโ ๏นโ ลโ ) it makes sense in my mind I hope I'm phrasing it right

Also nice photo ๐Ÿ˜›
A simple and obvious tip, but... I just realized I might have missed doing that exactly. I usually get so engrossed in whatever I'm doing or watching (or just getting stuck in my thoughts) that I forget about time and my tiredness. And at this point due to insomnia even getting in bed seems daunting. Yeah, I might need to start with just laying down, even if it feels like I'm wasting time.

Don't worry, you phrased it well, I understood everything (๐Ÿ–’^^)๐Ÿ–’. And thank you for the compliment on the photo!
about 2 years ago i used to need to get up early in the middle of the week for practice, it was nice tho. For me what got me to keep getting up early was the accountability, i HAD to be somewhere, so i had no choice but to finish up everything i had early and go to sleep. to be fair tho i don't think this would work in your case since the whole point of you getting up early is to be relaxed and my case was just working under a time crunch but still figured i could share
I usually don't wake early, but I love experiencing the stillness when night bleads into morning. A few years ago I used to set my alarm clock to before sunrise and that was nice
and I kept consistent by forcing myself to wake up because i did homework then or just wanted to have peace of mind alone before the day really started
yesss when the sky isn't fully obscured by clouds, there's something so tranquil and meditative in witnessing the first light of morning. it's also not always the same either. i've usually seen orange-blue gradients, but sometimes the sky is more pink-purple. i like when the clouds are a warm off-white and have pink/orange/purple spots on them
Real- I only experience early mornings when I do all nighters, mornings waking up are hell for me but when I stay up and watch it get brighter and brighter, it gives me this nice fuzz
The only way I wake up super early is if I really want/need to do something early. For example, when I went to the airport, I had to wake up at around 2am, so I went to sleep at around 7pm so I could get some sleep.
