As someone who is trying to get rid of doomscrolling in their everyday life - what are your favourite activities/ways to replace it or deal with it?
It sometimes feels like an itch you can't scratch properly but it seems like it's now a specific artificial need created by the product (social media).
My name is Caligo. I'm 23 years old. I usually go by they/them pronouns, but any other is fine too. This is the first time in a very long while I've opened up a public blog to write in. Exciting but also a bit overwhelming. Every post by you guys here seems so interesting, I hope this will be too to some.
I am someone who has lost themselves through burnout and depression. I feel quite empty and "blank" most of the time, but I can tell you about a few things that still light something up within me, even if it's a momentary spark.
I really like the colour green. It brings me a lot of comfort and I love seeing it in art, clothing, interior, exterior - everywhere. Post-apocalyptic worlds with greenery taking over everything are definitely one of the coolest things ever in my opinion.
My favourite games are Spiritfarer, Deltarune (Undertale too) and Coffee Talk. I also really like Night in the Woods, Baldur's Gate 3 and The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. I used to be into Honkai Impact 3rd for the first part (even won an anniversary artbook), but abandoned it due to the grind later. I play Honkai Star Rail now but very casually. Currently getting into Minecraft and playing it with my friend sometimes as she shows me the ropes.
I used to be really into compiling visual collages and even making matching playlists for them, be it for characters, certain moods or even general concepts. I might get back into that as a way to relax and visualise my ideas.
I am also trying to get back into drawing and writing. I have some OCs and faves from different fandoms but it's been a while since I've created something of my own.
I plan on using this blog as a digital diary of sorts and an archive of things I'm interested in. Although I can be quite closed up, I am also interested in interacting with other people and getting to know what they like.
Thank you for reading all this. Take good care of yourselves!
