Burning CDs is very easy to do! You just need the mp3 files of songs; you can get these in a lot of ways (pirate them). Pull these files up in a program of your choice; Windows Media Player Legacy and iTunes work great for this. Then you insert a blank disc into a disc drive; a smaller window should pop up asking you some questions, and then there should be a button with 'burn' on it. Hopefully the disc should start burning; if that works, bam, physical media.

The price for burning depends on if you have a CD drive along with blank CDs; then yes, it is very cheap to do. But if not, the stuff to do so isn't that expensive, and the software to burn them is free most times, or at least the ones I have used.
Burning cds is so easy once you get the hand of it. I use Windows Media Player Legacy. Just make sure you have the exact MP3 you need, because I've accidentally gotten remixes instead of the intended song. Frances gives you some good advice!

Even if you have to buy blank cds and a cd drive, you can easily make the money back if you think this way: "If I would've bought this bands' CD, it would've cost me Z, but instead I bought the blank cds and the drive, so now I can have X amount of this CD for Z!!"

Hopefully that made sense. If you decide to get into it, good luck!
Frances pretty much summed it up. The biggest invesment will definitely be the disc disc drive. Make sure you get the correct one!! Make sure it allows you to write/rewrite CDs and not only DVDs. I recommend finding something that does both to save you money.

Likewise, get the correct CDs. I am no expert, but CD-Rs only allow you to burn them/record info on them once, but you can replay them until they break/degrade. CD-RWs also allow infinite replays, but you can overwrite data stored on them. As for other CD types, most seem to be for other specific purposes. There also just seems to be a "general" CD (based on my skim of Wikipedia). Either way, I suggest CD-RWs for playlists, but buy whatever is a better fit for you. I'm sure your local tech store (if you have one) will know what to suggest!

CDs are very easy to buy in bulk too. That said, lowball how many you will need. Don't go straight to fifty. I went for a high amount and then neglected to burn any, lmfao. Kind of a waste of money until I actually use them.

Also, you will need to buy some cases or sleeves. I don't know how common disc folders/books are anymore, but they might be worthwhile if you end up making a lot. I'd hold off on getting a new one for now, though. Oh, and please get a CD-safe pen. I think I ruined my CD by using an alcohol market. The layers are SUPER thin and ink will easily bleed into the data layers.

Hope this helps!! I hope you can burn some CDs. It's definitely a better alternative to Spotify and whatnot. Even just having the proper MP3 files on your computer will be miles better.
I just started burning my own cds and I really enjoy it :o to me, the best part is getting to make your own playlists :)
I just learned how to do that so i’m no that good at explaining it and there are other replies already so.. but it is a lot cheaper than buying! The only things that cost are the laptop, empty cds and a disc drive!!
I will add to the already great advice, make sure you burn .flac files instead of .mp3s to get the same audio quality as a factory-made CD album.
