random question, but do you think casual physical affection or showing affection at all between friends (both same and opposite / diff genders) should d be normalized??

i hate that whenever i try to show someone i care, someone else will see and assume something romantic is going on between us like NOOO! i just have a lot of love to give huhuu.. anyways what r yall’s thought?? hmmm..

Yeah definitely!! Everyone deserves a little affection. It shouldn't just be a romance thing (T_T)
I'm scared of being called "lame"
I think it should be normalised 2- its weird how we shy away from affection in such an embarrassed tone & maybe just laugh it off- u should be able 2 show sum1 u love that u love em without it being engraved into evry1s brain that das not normal idk
Whenever people say that physical affection means something is romantic, I feel bad for their family members, whom must have never received a hug from them before. If the boundaries of the people involved are being respected, there is nothing wrong with being physically affectionate with a friend. I wouldn't even consider it queer-platonic. Hugging someone isn't innately anything other than affectionate.

I could understand if two friends were kissing on the lips or something, but even then, each to their own.

Personally, I love hugging my loved ones. I wish I could cuddle with people without it having such annoying strings attached! Even figuring out how to bring up the idea feels super awkward.
Certainly. Affection shouldn't suddenly become romantic simply because two people happen to care for one another. A hug, holding hands, resting against a friend's shoulder, telling someone you love them, none of these things ought to require a confession of romantic feelings attached to them.

I think we've become terribly afraid of tenderness. Heaven forbid two friends adore one another openly without everyone immediately trying to arrange a wedding. It's ridiculous, really.

Love has never belonged exclusively to romance. There is something rather beautiful about being able to love your friends deeply and without embarrassment. If you have a lot of love to give, darling, I see no reason you should make yourself smaller simply because other people insist on putting everything into little romantic boxes.

So yes. Hug your friends! Tell them you love them! Be affectionate! Let people be loved without interrogating what kind of love it is
#yesohmygosh

also normalize friends kissing
Showing affection should def be more normalized. especially cause I feel like lots of people definitely confuse affection between 2 ppl or any types of platonic affection for romantic and its so annoying T-T
yes 100% :(( out of all things, why do people hate love
Bruh no frr its annoying like mb for showing i care about ppl ToT like do u want me to yell at them or something
Actually, yes
I think being affectionate shld be normalized, cuz 1 ppl who dont know how to express themselves with words can use physical affection, 2 it can show how compassionate someone is and 3 it's too normalized as 'romantic'
to be fair, love isn't just one classified thing, it isn;t just romantic love, it can be platonic, familial, etc, etc.
speaking from experience i got looked at weirdly by the friend who i held hands with cuz i was scared as a kid.. like dawg ...
Of course, I hate that the romance narrative is pushed everywhereee πŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“
