Chat how do I stay in good contact with my parents?? I've been living in an apartment for the first time EVER without them for like not even 2 weeks and I've barely talked to them! (I actually really like my parents, they're pretty cool) But I'm struggling to call/text because I don't wanna feel like I'm bothering them during the week! How do ya'll keep family updated when you no longer live at home?

A text from time to time is definitly the go-to, even the simple small talk is okay and you it shows that you still think about them, "how's the weather?", "how is this person?" etc
Maybe even a small "i miss you", "i found this today" or other
The goal here is not to have the best of conversations but to show that you still love them even if you're not in the same house anymore

Maybe at the week tell them something cool that happened or something interesting you learned so they also feel I included in your college adventure. If you are scared to call when they’re busy, maybe text and ask for a day that works that week for a short phone call. (I’d ask on a Sunday)

help im the same i barely reach out ToT what i do w my parents is just every day i text em when i head out for uni and then again when im back, just a lil text, ik friends of mine who like schedule a set time of the week to call their parents eg. call em every sunday at lunch or smth to catch them up on their week, u could try that?
