my friends got mad at me for saying "i like age gaps if im younger one and the age gap was to be max 2 years " i didn't get to finish they cut me off at the younger one part like im sorry?? these guys always be dating people in a lower grade than them like that's better.. if you think my preference is wrong that is too idc. i used to judge but im mostly confused, do we not see the immaturity gap ts can be MASSIVE even if someone is the same age as you ( and im just talking about high school / secondary school btw bc u get better when ur an adult i assume) and now their saying i want to get gr**med like NO?? I was just saying that bc my experience with dating ppl younger than me was exhausting/ annoying and I'd rather not deal with that anymore yeah i probably said that wrong but like i don't have that type of vocab downloaded T-T

When did dating someone older than you by a reasonable number of years become a bad thing???

I'm married to someone two years older than me. My grandma married someone two years older than her. My aunt married someone 5 years older than her (She was 30ish when she met him). My brother married someone a year older than him. I get it, everyone has a preference, and that's fine, but it's not like you're 13 and wanting to date someone who's 25 and older.

Around 15, I got tired of dating people who were born the same year as me (I'm generally the older person in my birth year cause I was born in January) or younger cause they were so fucking immature. Not everyone is like that, but in my experience, younger people tend to be more immature. Older people can tots be immature too, but it's less likely. It's just your preference, two years is NOT BAD!
tbh i don't think its wrong wanting to date sm1 slightly older than you, there's not much of a large maturity gap, i don't rlly see anything wrong for wanting to be someone older by 2-3 years

i've dated someone like 2-3 years older than me anf tbh we've always got the same sort of maturity level, besides it isn't considered gr**ming if they're 2-3 years older. besides, i can relate, some people slightly younger than your age can be a little annoying.

Actual signs of gr**ming is where your older partner pressures you into sending s*xual material of yourself, making you dependant on them using guilt tripping / love bombing and/or ignoring your boundaries and so on.

So in all honesty, it isn't bad
I think teenagers who are minors should generally be able to date within a two year age gap. Adults (even as teens) can do whatever they want, even if there are definitely still fucked up maturity gaps and major warnings. Just a consequence of being a legal adult. Obviously, doesn't excuse the older person from being a creep, but still.

Anyway, yeah, being, like, fifteen and dating a seventeen-year-old isn't bad. The gap gets smaller the younger you are, but maturity isn't a 1:1 with age. How many times have people complained about adults being more immature than them? People with a two-year age gap can be of similar maturity.

Comparing wanting to date someone slightly older to wanting to be sexually exploited is disgusting. Saying people want to be exploited in general is really fucking weird at best. I really hope your friend just messed up their choice of words. It'd be concerning if they genuinely thought it was the same as wanting to be abused.
As someone who can speak of Experience i feel ya sadly :(
My Dating Life while not huge usually was 2 - 4 Years Older >.>

Around my Teen Years my Relationships were more like 2 Years Older than me and Max a Year Younger than me >.>
While my Adult Years usually have me prefer a Age Gap of 5 Years when it comes to Oldest and max a Year or 2 Younger than me to the Youngest Side >.>

But yea i personally just do not seem to understand your Friends really as well >.>
Like maybe a bit but for the most Part its like whatever really :P
