Does anyone here like 2000s Japanese films. If you do please talk to me, give me recommendations on what to watch. I could also give you recommendations if you would like.
not exactly 2000s but rather super later 90s, two of my favorite films ever are ハル (haru) (1996) and love&pop (1998). both are artistically very cool, haru is about two people who meet online and exchange emails, very cute story. love&pop is about a girl who’s trying to make enough money for a ring she wants to get, i will say this one is very intense so look up warnings if you are sensitive to heavy topics. i would also love a rec if you have any!!! especially movies about technology or are visually distinct
Thanks I'll be sure to check them out!!! You should give watching "All about Lily chou-chou" a try it has very cool visuals and some sensitive topic, you can watch it with subtitles on YouTube.
aahhh, i only started watching older movies recently. . . (,,¬﹏¬,,) i started with Blue(2002), and its really well so far !! im taking my time finishing it because i keep getting distracted so much (·•᷄ࡇ•᷅ ) do u have any good recs? ill be happy to expand my horizons !!! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-
I recommend "all about Lily chou-chou" (has a bit of sensitive topic) and "and so we put goldfish in the pool". Both have great visuals and you can watch them with subtitles on YouTube.
If you like vampires then you should watch "bara no konrei" if you like good cinematography I recommend "all about Lily chou-chou" and "and so we put goldfish in the pool" and a another random rec it "oresama" most can be watched on YouTube.
omgg hiii! i dont know a lot about it but i would love to watch some! do u have any recommendations? My friend did tell me she watched all about lily chou chou and she found it to be a bit too intense, especially bc the mcs are all teenagers, but if u have any thoughts on it id love to hear it cc:
Hiii some less intense movie are kamikaze girls" and "swing girls" . For me I think the fact that they were teenagers in aalcc added to the plot well and helped more people relate to the movie.
Haa i'm sad i didn't find this earlier but if you still take my recommendations, i enjoyed Picnic (1996) you can find it on youtube, tw: there are some super weird scenes and it's unsetteling in some ways. If you like horror like me you should watch Suicide club (2002) !!also heavy tw on this one : lots of deaths and blood.!! if you don't like horror movie i also liked "a gentle breeze in the village" it's also on youtube it's a super cute romance ;3
it's on apple TV, prime video and netflix if you want a better quality and you have those streaming plateforms. If you don't it's on Dailymotion, you can watch without making an account for free, the subtitles are kinda big but it didn't bother me personally.
I like weird japanese animation I still havent gotten around to watching peprika I like how funky the animation is which is why spirited away was such a fever dream for me
Ive only watched kamikaze girls currently but its one of my favourite movies, I've been wanting to start Linda Linda Linda. I dont know many more, but I think I like the slice of life, high school and making friends aspect
