Craft day? You could do an everybody-brings-their-own-project thing if you're all crafty. Making and trading zines is also pretty fun, and other than the base paper a lot of what you put in can be your own art, or cut out from advertisements scattered around. (If you're in a college/uni/school that has a lot of clubs, people will hand out stuff like this constantly, and you can collect it over time) If you want to throw in around $5, you can also cram a bunch of little images into a document and print them out at a library.
adding on to what other folks said, my friends are super artsy so we've gone to local shows, the beach, or parks and had small picnics n done photoshoots with phones or cameras, and sometimes we will sketch or paint with diff themes n stuff! back in highschool my friends and i would take advantage of fast food app rewards n kinda use what we had. i'd also check out city passes and library passes to local museums, aquariums, etc. check local facebook groups n social media for cheap/free community events too!
i knowwwww!!! i feel like theres almost no places where you can go and sit down and won't have to buy something :( i like urban exploring, but its a bit risky (¯▿¯;) i also love exploring nature, if u arent afraid to get ur hands (and clothes...) dirty :D
Go to the library, grab the same book for all of you friends and read it in the park together at the same time that you share your thoughts. A lot funnier if you pick up a bad book knowing it´s bad from the start
if you have the supplies, camping trips with friends are SO FUN. also driving around and taking random turns just to see where you end up, if someones willing to pay the gas money lol :>>
