I´ve started reading a book that came out this year and oh god it´s full of inconsistences, I´ve just finished chapter one and I found at least nine things that don´t make sense in universe, hoow can it have such a high rating

I´ve been doing some research in avoiding racism in writing when having characters with black and brown skin. Does anyone have suggestions as to things you can compare to black skin that are not foods?
