Here's part two to my Maysa post that I made earlier (for those who see lol).

Maysa's climax in her career was in the late 50s, with 1958 being her biggest year musically. Naturally, given her style of music, she would end up becoming one the highest paid artists in Brazil by that time. She attempted to experiment with other music styles outside her zone such as bossa nova, but they never really took off. She eventually divorced her millionaire husband due to his controlling behavior towards her career. Maysa ended up in the rest of the 60s decade travelling Europe, singing at venues and acting in various movies and shows.

Maysa, despite her highlighted career, was a broken woman with various issues that affected her deeply. Most of that had to do with self-image issues due to tabloids at the time along with removal of custody of her son from the previous marriage. These factors may have defined her deeply, yet she was willing to put her art and talent out there for people to see.

In 1975 or 76?, Maysa would reunite with her son, Jayme, after years of no contact. She felt happy to see here son after so long, with the experience giving her the need to put herself out there more artistically, including lauching some albums (last one was in 1974).

In January 22, 1977, while Maysa was traveling the Rio-Niterói bridge, she would be involved in a fatal car crash, passing away at age 40. Last testimonies of the paramedics at the scene indicated that she wanted to live.

Even with a tumultuous life she faced, Maysa managed to bring her talent and care among thousands of fans not only in Brazil but across the world, and I'm glad to be one of those fans. May her music live on for future generations to listen to.

Ughhhhh I love ADF (Asian Dub Foundation) so bad bro I just can't!!! I especially love the Enemy of The Enemy album omg I'm obsessed with it, literally my favorite album OAT If you like funky indie rock then check it out and even if you don't check them out anyway, cuz this band is the best!!! And it's not problematic btw despite it being a pretty old band... (there since 1984 I believe) They have some political songs and I just love them, their songs are really meaningful and just SLAP dawg!!!!!.!.! Idk how to even put my love for the lyrics into words man you just gotta get it..
But anyway, here are my current favs songs from that album!!!!!
1000 Mirrors -
Absolutely beautiful vocals, the vibe is just.. immaculate, mesmerizing, ethereal.... Don't even get me started guys!! The lyrics?? Oh, love. Instrumental? Double love. Don't ask questions, go listen to this song RIGHT NOWWWW it's just perfect for like an evening walk or just to listen during a quiet evening when you just feel like vibing. The feeling that this song brings needs to be studied honestly...
La Haine -
Honestly, I love Enemy of The Enemy, La Haine and Fortress Europe almost the same, but La Haine gotta be going second for the message in it. I can't really tell u what it is tho (~ooh I'm luring you into listening to ADF oooh~) But dawg I'm in love with the chorus and the part where it goes quiet in the second half of the song (idk how it's called I'm so sorry guys I'm just ranting so I'm not looking stuff up and I just like ADF ok 💔) But "Are you The Judge, The Jury or The Executioner?" JUST GOES SO HARDDDD LITERALLY GOES HARD AF BRO YOU CAN'T DISAGREE W ME ON THAT!!!!!
Enemy of The Enemy -
Ok, now, this might be a bit of my personal stuff, but as a Ukrainian this song feels like it's a bit abt how the relationship between Russia and Ukraine is from snippets and a bit abt USA.. (Can't type anymore I hit the limit UGH 💔)

This is a snippet of info from one of my favorite artists, which is Maysa Matarazzo. She was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she shared a passion for music at a very young age. She came from a well-off background, mostly spending her teenage years writing her most successful songs (Adeus, Marcada) in the bathroom of her private school while skipping class and smoking cigarettes. She would sing her songs at parties her family hosted among their elite friends. One of those friends, who was apart of an influential, wealthy family in São Paulo would end up marrying with her at the age of 18. Maysa would start her professional career in 1956, releasing her albums "Convite para ouvir Maysa" without her image on them to avoid "unnecessary attention", according to her husband at the time. Her style of music was "samba-canção" with a touch of somberness, which became her trademark. Her main masterpieces, such as "Meu mundo caiu, Ouça, and Ne me quitte pas" became great success not only in Brazil but in the Latin world. There's a lot more I can talk about her, and I may have to make a part two on this topic but yeah :)

One of my newer all time favorite things is playing beta Minecraft!! I stumbled upon the "Golden Age Minecraft" community earlier this year and i fell in love so quick... It had never occurred to me that i could just play the earlier versions of Minecraft. I've been playing on java since like 2022 or 2023, but i grew up on bedrock, or back when it was just called pocket edition. 7 years old and sharing a little Samsung phone between me and my two older brothers just playing crappy Minecraft pocket edition, ahh those were the days. My only exposure to actual like beta and early release and all that was just through Youtube, so playing those versions now was still super nostalgic for me even though i had never actually played it! Nostalgia was why i was drawn to it but it wasn't why i stuck with it. The older versions were genuinely so good and almost better than modern in their own ways. Now I'm no modern Minecraft hater okay, i love modern more than the next guy but i can still admit that it definitely has its flaws. Flaws that just make it incomparable to the older versions. Its like two separate games. The older versions (specifically before release) were just so much simpler and really encapsulated the whole "sandbox" aspect. And now obviously the main point of Minecraft is still a sandbox, that is true, its just significantly more complex. There's now so much to do, sometimes it feels like there's TOO much to do. Compared to the simplicity and ease of beta. AND, everything just looks so good in beta... you can spend hours planning and building a beautiful house in modern Minecraft but if its not detailed enough or the colors aren't right, it'll probably end up looking like shit. But in beta, you can build the simplest house with a basic flat roof and only use wood and stone and it'll look great. Timeless & iconic. Nothing like a classic style Minecraft build. This is just the tip of the iceberg for me but i dont have the space to continue. But you get the point

Bossa Nova is a genre that many people overlook, and I feel that it shouldn't be this way. Many people reduce Bossa Nova to just "elevator music", which undermines the actual history of what the genre actually is. Bossa Nova originates by the end of the 1950s in Rio de Janeiro, mixing the influences of samba, jazz, and traditional Brazillian sound all in one, impeccable harmony. There's many debates on who started the genre, with people like Tom Jobim, João Donato, João Gilberto, Nara Leão, and Roberto Menescal taking certain credit for creating the genre. At the time in Brazil's history, the country was facing economic growth that was never seen after the end of World War II, with Brazil's need to modernize many aspects of its culture. The mainstream genre at the time, "samba-canção", was at its peak, with people like Angela Maria, Nelson Gonçalves, Maysa, etc. taking ahold of a genre with elements of traditional Latin boleros and samba. With the national need to modernize and appeal internationally, Bossa Nova became the answer the government at the time wanted to solve. This genre was internationally recognized and honored by various countries, such as the U.S. and Japan, who in turn influenced many styles of music in their respective countries in turn. It represented the traditional and modern part of Brazil, the energetic samba elements with a clean jazz undertone. The biggest year for Bossa Nova was in 1964, with the introduction of "Garota da Ipanema" or "Girl from Ipanema" by Astrud Gilberto, which is pretty much the flagship bossa nova song people know and love to this day. The song was acclaimed across the globe, giving Brazil the international recognition it deserved.

I'm actually super happy ti js discovered this group cuz my ass won't shut up about my intrests lately. Lemmie start with my most faves of the current!!
Ne Zha 2 has been one of my most favorite movies of all time, sure it may stray away from the origins a lot but it still has a peak story line. Though i wasn't a fan of the first movie because my 8 year old brain was more focused on mlp remixes. But when i saw the second movie last year when it came out i became a MASSIVE fan, specificly, a massive Ao Bing fan. He is one of my favorite characters from the movie, because 1 he looks pretty, 2 i love his personality. And when he took over Ne Zha's body it's just a massive throwback on how femenine Ne Zha used to look in the older movies (speicifically ish, Ne Zha conquers the dragon king, an old movie u can watch on yt for free with sub/ dub, would rec). And abolutely Ne Zha's transformation is lwk so insane but i'm not gonna spoil it for the sake of it :P.
And the antagonists, ngl i love the villians it was lwk such a plot twist but a tiny bit predictable. BUT HOLD ME BACK WHEN I SEE AO RUN SHE'S SO GORGALICIOUS RAHH. I Also LOVE LOVE the cinematics of the movie like the scenes, the detaisl, the lighting are EVERYTHING. Espescially the intro to the second movie, the 2d animated scene has my HEART it has been my favorite ever since i first saw it !
Considering the 3rd movie will be done by 2028-ish / 2 n half more years i'm lwk SO excited and probably would confirm is AoZha would be either canon lovers (have u seen the way way Ao Bing loosk at the transformed Ne Zha at the end of the movie dawg) or prolly drag it on for a bit more or not even reveal 😔
okay i'm done

Personally ever since my love for music came at around 13 (2021 me btw!), like Billie Eilish was (still is ) my inspiration to do music. I once had this yellow book filled with my own and different versions of songs i loved, now that im 18 (scary ah age tbh, lowkey stillfeel 16 tho .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. ). Now my art and aspirations come from the likes of:

- PinkPantheress

- Kanii

- Bunii

- SZA

- Tori Vega (tho she from Victorious)

- Kaash Paige

- Tyler The Creator

- Imogen Heap

Those people are behind my art and music, especially living in a country like South Africa, Where music there nowadays have segual-slop, drvg-slop, even alcohol-slop. I'm just... Different from the massive crowd, and being autistic/neurodivergent makes it more "bad" for them.

But it won't matter, coz i'll stay true and raw to my pure to both my art, and love for music!!!

Splendid that this group exists bcus I love yapping so Im gonna start w one of my favourite things rn - The Case files of jeweler Richard! It's a light novel series but one I haven't actually finished yet, I've only read the first 4 books of 15 TOT so maybe I'm being preemptive with this but so far I have absolutely loved it!! It's a slice of life series following Seigi and the eponymous Richard, a jeweler. Mainly it's about their clients (who come to them wanting to buy jewelry) and their problems, which the pair help solve (ie case files, so in a way its sort of a detective series, albeit a detective series with far less crime than usual). There's obviously the gemstones, which have long been an interest of mine and its just fun to read about them in this context. It's got some lovely explorations of themes like identity, family and what that means, love, loyalty, and queer identity. Along the way as well, you get to see Richard and Seigi's dynamic develop into what so far is so queerplatonic in a way that I love and very rarely see in media. It also has a canon aroace character, Tanimoto Shoko, who I absolutely love! TLDR its peak cus gemstones and explorations of stuff i rarely see elsewhere!

Jessie Mazin's The man with money in his hands.

Jessie Mazin is a musician I recently discovered, and since then, her voice has been on repeat, looping around in my head.

What makes this song good? The lyrics. They are very true to what's happening now, and speak the truth of the world's political stance. It is truth interwoven in guitar strings that pluck at ur heart, while her poignant melody hum throughout your body.

She inspires me to write songs for the voiceless. And although I don't know how to play an instrument other than my own voice. I will try to atleast make something inspired by her and what she advocates for through her songs.

My voice needs a lot of tuning. I need to be able to wield it despite me cringing everytime I hear it.

This won't be about me anymore.

It's about making something inspired by Jessie Mazin, for those who are voiceless.

i have a quote from kingdom hearts for you today.

"We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend. now i will step forward to realize this wish.
And who knows: starting a new journey may not be so hard, or maybe it has already begun.
there are many worlds, but they share the same sky- one sky, one destiny."

some of this quote sounds nearly nonsensical, but i think theres some meaning to be taken from it. i mostly just like the middle section, "And who knows: starting a new journey may not be so hard, or maybe it has already begun." because i think thats a really good way to view starting new hard changes in life, as someone who struggles to move forward. its a simple change in view that shows that maybe just the desire for change is where the change starts, maybe you dont have to be afraid of change because its not something you have to start manually, maybe just wanting a change is where it was put into motion, and then where its up to you is continuing in that new movement in your life. i hope im making sense.
