I found a bumblebee near my porch. It was pretty chilly when I found it, and it wasn't moving much, so I assumed it was feeling sluggish because of the cold. I grabbed a couple drops of honey and shmeared them across the wood (see photo) and the bee started eating. >:)
I've heard bees are pretty smart, sometimes able to recognize people, they play, etc, so I held out my hand for a few minutes to see if the bee would do anything + to shield it from the wind, and it very slowly CLIMBED ONTO MY HAND!!!!! Dude kinda just sat there for a while, but eventually started to move around a little more. At one point it crawled onto the side of my hand, and couldn't hold on and kinda fell down/ bounced down my steps 😬 (this happened multiple times because I was too afraid to move while the bee was on me, and the bee... Might low-key have lost brain cells in the cold (ᵕ—ᴗ—))
Anyway, when I lowered my hand again for the bee to climb back on, they did kinda the frozen-bee equivalent of a sprint, so I'm pretty sure it was intentionally warming itself in my hand.
Eventually it flew off, so.... successful bee rescue? I didn't include any photos of the bee in my hand, because I don't really want photos of my hand floating around, but have faith I held a bee for about 40 minutes.

Y'all, am I cooked or do you think I can still get it?

Literally sooo happy. I think it's a little brown bat? Don't quote me on that

(Ignore the fact that one leg looks shorter than the other, I folded it up to try to show the side hardware)
Considering making some stamps to add designs to some of the squares, or another horizontal band of the dark blue denim around the base of the one strap-loop thingy. Advice is welcome though, I'm not done yet.

Bottom Right: The rare and elusive wheat penguin! (/J --> 98% sure it's a red tailed hawk, but I can never get close enough to get a good look. Definitely a raptor, though)

These were mostly done to practice facial expressions, but it's also the first time I've drawn my main OCs in a long while.
Should I do intros for them? IDK how things work around here (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

Been feeling a lot of body-horror vibes lately. :)

Does anyone know Comus? (70s "Br*tish progressive folk" band, for anyone curious) I recently started listening to their album First Utterance, which has been great writing inspiration for a story I've been trying to plot out, revolving around a cult operating in small towns across North America (or some equivalent fictional continent), which creates body horror, cyptid-esc monsters + the young-adult lgbtq friend group investigating them. Does anyone like any other songs that fit this vibe, Comus made or otherwise?
I also love music in goth, punk, grunge, folk, or moody 80s synth esc genres, which have also made their way into my writing playlist. Anything with these vibes would be great if you want to share! Thanks!

A lip and ear cuff set, since I don't feel like getting full piercings right now. I didn't want to show my face, so you get a fun, quick, random character sketch to approximate what they look like on a face.
I got most of my supplies from Rio Grande. Unfortunately I don't have a link to the stainless steel chain I used, but I got the sheet metal for the cuffs from the link below.
https://www.riogrande.com/product/titanium-sheet-6-x-6-soft/135202GP?code=135202&objectID=135205&queryID=51e9c536eaed39f96bfdce74c84788bd?code=135202
I used titanium, as most of what I plan on making with it will be lip/face jewelry, and titanium is a lot less likely to poison me when making contain with my mouth than some aluminum alloy from home-despot. Titanium is generally very difficult to cut, so I also got 22 gauge. Depending on the tools you have, I would personally avoid getting anything below an 18 gauge, as it would be insanely difficult to cut with hand tools. If you have tools that are designed to cut titanium, or even a band saw... Go crazy? I was too lazy to try using a band saw.
After sketching out the shapes I wanted, I used a metal punch to add holes to my titanium, and snips to cut out 2.0-3.5 cm strips, which I then hand sanded with a metal file. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the strips around a sharpie (again, I'm too lazy to go out and use actual tools for their intended purposes), and then I had a bunch of ear cuffs/lip cuffs. You may note that two cuffs don't have holes. That is because I didn't want holes in them. Free-will, baby.
I cut the chain to size, again, with needle nose pliers. With some random old jump rings I've had under my bed for the last ten years (which are probably loaded with cadmium and lead, but shhhhh), I fastened the chain to the cuffs on the main piece. Now I have three super cool, kinda lumpy pieces that I can mix and match when ever I want. :D
Any questions, just ask! Drink wate

I have almost an entire binder filled with a mix of burnt and purchased CDs now, including albums from Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cranberries, Led Zeplin, The Bare Naked Ladies, Fleetwood Mac, Gordon Lightfoot, ABBA, and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW SOUND TRACK! :D
As a side note, have a Sony personal audio system ZS-RS60BT, which I like, but the first couple disks I tried weren't being read. The screen just said "Reading" for a while. Apparently then that happens you need to give the laser reader a little nudge down or to the left, so if anyone else has that issue, try that?

Introducing myself because... I probably should? I like making stuff, which mostly comes down to art, but I woodwork, cook/bake, sew, paint, do digital art, sculpt, write, make jewelry... Making stuff is more of a succinct summary.
I love a lot of alt style and culture. Unfortunately I'm too indecisive to attach myself to a single sub-culture, but my fashion, music and lifestyle is fairly heavily inspired by a lot of punk, grunge, and a smidgeon of old goth, slurried with whatever melted my developing brain back in 2020. I'm hoping to post art/ projects if I ever find the time? I'm working on a fun pair of up-cycled pants right now, so I'll see if I ever finish those. ╥﹏╥
Let me know what you're watching right now. I'll never find time to watch it, but I'll add it to the list. T_T
