Today's song rec is "Асуудал" by Aruinna!
This song is pure y2k dreamlike pop glory, and is super catchy and fun! The great rap part in the middle, the phone call effects, the chant at the end, the infectious beat, the MUSIC VIDEO... it's everything. Ariunna in general is great, but I was obsessed with this song the second I heard it.

I’ve been exploring multiple music genres that I have not before
now I’m looking for country music, please share your favourite songs and/or albums

hi-ho!! it's day 6 of a song a day! (almost hit a week, let's go) again, trying to do a variety, so some songs might seem out of left field. just bear with me!

Today's song is... (drumroll)

Stupid Cupid by Connie Francis!

i've always had a soft spot for oldies, and this one definitely fits. it's a fun little bop, and Connie Francis's occasional vocal fry is just so memorable to me. lmk what you think if you listen!

anyone else on here like moxy früvous ... 'cause I DO and i want more people to listen to bargainville because it is THAT peak of an album. last time i checked it's on youtube music and other major music services so just take a quick listen trust me on this one dude

hi-ho!
to stay active on the site and stuff, i thought it would be fun to do a song a day! you can take this as a recommendation or not, let me know your thoughts if y’all do check it out tho!

with that being said, i will start day 1 of a song a day… tomorrow! so stay tuned! (get it? tuned? im too funny…)

(also pls let me know if i shouldn’t do it in this group. maybe in the lounge or just on my own page? i am not well versed in netiquette, sorry!! T-T)

I discovered an album with a very goofy look to it. It's called The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroad by Lift To Experience, and I fear it has become a personal favorite album for me right now.

The album sounds nothing like it looks; the sound is best called god-fearing shoegaze. It's a concept album about the second coming of Jesus Christ, but if Jesus just went to Texas. The concept sounds nuts, but just hold on.

I am not religious and also had no idea this album was religious.
But it is a 10/10 for anyone looking for a good shoegaze album.

I'd also like to try a song a day!
Today's song rec is "If I Speak" by Frank The Baptist!
This is a dark gothic rock sea shanty filled with yearning and an incredibly catchy melody. I positively love this song!!
Listen on Bandcamp: https://frankthebaptist.bandcamp.com/track/if-i-speak
The whole album is great so check that out too!

Hi friends! I wanted to share some music you might enjoy, especially if you're into '90s-2000s internet culture and aesthetics.

This is Virtua by trndytrndy and it's heavily inspired by the utopian scholastic aesthetic.

Virtua on Bandcamp:
https://trndytrndy.bandcamp.com/album/virtua

the angel is back! with day 5 of a song a day. man i am on a roll (ignoring the times i fell off my roll)

Today's song is... (drumroll)

Lamento Boliviano by Los Enanitos Verdes!

imma be honest this is the only song i know from this band, but it's hella popular for a reason i think. i would always try and sing the harmonies with my dad, lol, and i'd love to learn the guitar riff in the middle. lmk what you think if you listen!

hihihi!!!! I'd like to recommend this little mini band I found about a year+ ago!!! TO ME, their music sounds like it could be in a 2000s-2010s movie. Its awfully intoxicating and a vibe. I have cried, danced, sang, crafted, walked places, sat in silence, and worked on school work to their music! I feel like, despite having only a limited amount of songs released, that they have a song for several different moods. And the songs hit differently depending on what mood YOURE in!!! They feel so sparkly and shimmery in my head. The world gets more colorful whenever I listen to them! The Spotify description describes them as: "intoxicating and sparkly indie glitter rock". If this is up your aisle or even just intrigues you, I would definitely check this out!!!! (≧▽≦)

day 4 of a song a day!! (i promise i am trying to do this with consistency T-T) im trying to pick a variety of songs, that may be why these seem kinda random?

Today’s song is… (drumroll)

ABCD by Im Nayeon!!

Nayeon is my favorite TWICE member, and its mostly because all her solo works are SO GOOD?? i have the cd of this ep and I repeat the first track nonstop. everyone has their opinions on k-pop, and i know it’s not for everyone, but my personal opinion is that this song slaps. lmk what you think if you listen!

I'm here to suggest my favourite obscure album!! All Roads Lead From Here by Eqwanox.
Eqwanox is a rock/pop punk band formed in 2004, they only ever released one original album, that being All Roads Lead From Here, before disbanding in 2011. I absolutely love this album, the production is great, I love the vocals and backing vocals, and the lyrics are all super catchy. If you like pop punk I think you'd really enjoy it, plus i dont wanna be their only monthly listener on spotify anymore lol

Does anyone have a guilty pleasure song?

I will go first. Sorry For Party Rocking by LMFAO is such a good song, but it's embarrassing to say that I like it.

I FORGOT MY SONG OF TJE DAY YESTERDAY IM SORRY T-T in my defense i went to the dentist. anyways it's day 3 (technically 4?) of a song a day!!

Today's song is... (drumroll)

Dead on Arrival by Fall Out Boy!!

FOB is one of my favorite bands of all time and i feel like this song doesn't get enough love. also tje word play is just impeccable, which is trademark of fall out boy :P i love them so muchhh lmk what you think if you listen!

Uncaught by Geotic is a really cool ambient song I listened to today. Even though I've heard this song recently, it feels nostalgic.

Looking for recommendations :)

Does anyone know Comus? (70s "Br*tish progressive folk" band, for anyone curious) I recently started listening to their album First Utterance, which has been great writing inspiration for a story I've been trying to plot out, revolving around a cult operating in small towns across North America (or some equivalent fictional continent), which creates body horror, cyptid-esc monsters + the young-adult lgbtq friend group investigating them. Does anyone like any other songs that fit this vibe, Comus made or otherwise?

I also love music in goth, punk, grunge, folk, or moody 80s synth esc genres, which have also made their way into my writing playlist. Anything with these vibes would be great if you want to share! Thanks!

God, Medicine by Joji is such a good song.

It samples the song Medicine by Daughter, and the sample work is just so good. I've loved this song for years, I wish joji made more tracks like this!

Listened to trinket by tsubi club

Wow, this is a pretty good album!

Favorite tracks from the first listen are ( fallout ) and landslide.

I like it!

If anyone likes cutecore stuff or anything related I'd recommend giving chinoi momone a listen! >_< My fav song by her is As Tenshi-sama Says (the song is abt.. DOOMED YURI I think, if anyone's interested in that information) just wanted to share cuz I'm listening to it rn ^w^

heyooo! it's day two of a song a day! (i'm gonna try to keep doing this until i forget, lol)

Today's song of the day is... (drumroll)

Psycho Mode by TAK!

TAK is one of my favorite vocaloid producers, and this song specifically has had me in a chokehold ♡ its such a jam, not to mention the music video is so yummy. let me know what you think if you give it a listen!

Hello! I thought I'd leave a list of some of my fav songs at the moment here :0
- A Step In The Right Direction | The Montanas
- Tin Soldier | Small Faces, P.P Arnold
- Hot Stuff | Donna Summers
- Contact (Dance Version) | Nuvo Riche
- One Night in Arabia | Go Go Girls
- Oh! | The Linda Lindas
- Heart Throb | Be Your Own Pet
ദ്ദി◝ ⩊ ◜.ᐟ

This is a little less on the sharing music side of things but can you play a musical instrument? How much do you know about music theory?? And if you maybe play in a band or would like to some day, what genres would be/are your favourite type of music to make??

heyo! it's the angel again! without further ado, here goes day 1 of a song a day!!

Today's song of the day is... (drumroll)

Fell In Love With a Girl
by The White Stripes!

I wanted to start off with something high energy, fun, y'know? definitely rock, idk if i can say punk but probably has punk influences. i just always wanna dance when i listen to it lol.

Anyways, that was today's song! let me know what you think if y'all listen to it, and stay tuned for tomorrow's!

guys about 2 months ago i came across this group called south arcade and they've instantly made their way to the top of my list. unfortunately they do not have a massive following so i do not have anyone to talk abt them to. anyways was hoping someone here has heard of them before or enjoys their music

its feels like getting high on the beach at sunrise here are some of my go to artist ⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
sublime, dirty heads, slightly stoopid, jimy cliff, toots and the maytales, peter tosh, bob marley, burning spcan, gregory isaacs and much much more 𝄞⨾💿✮˚.⋆

Big sucker for bands like Luvcat and Rio Romeo... not sure what the terms are, but absolutely obsessed and enthralled by whatever genre names might fit.
Curious to see if anyone has any similar bands/songs to recommend?

GUYSSSSS my boyfriend(shout out Freezy) surprised me after our date today with this Miniature Tigers vinyl (MY FAV BAND IN THE WORLD)🥺🥺 I love this album so much!! It's called Mia Pharaoh.

I highly recommend it if you like dream/synth pop or neo-psychedelia! My fav tracks are Flower Door, Boomerang, Sex on the Regular, and Angel Bath. But honestly they're all really good!

Have a good listen if u decide to check it out guys!!

Any Industrial fans in the chat??!! I don't know many other rivetheads and I'm dying to meet more.

I recently found a band on a website called Every noice at once, and its surprising to me that this band wasnt bigger than it is.
They only have a single album from 2010 called "The air between us turns to ashes" and its some nice little banger. They have about 40 monthly listeners on spotify and they're called Red Pyramid. If you like neo post punk definetly take a listen :3

What are your favourite album covers? This has been a recent favourite for me

Some power pop bands because people I talk to IRL don't recognise the genre (most of these are '90s):

- Jellyfish
- The Posies
- Matthew Sweet
- Sugar
- Material Issue
- Jason Falkner
- Big Star
- Teenage Fanclub

And my ultimate favourite: Velvet Crush! I love their album Teenage Symphonies to God. I think the band is pretty niche. I hope I can meet someone else who knows about them! Unfortunately, I've been having a hard time finding their proper discography. I want to listen to their songs in order, but I dunno where to find their other albums.

My favourite tracks lately that are on the more niche side:

- Bruises and Bitemarks by Good With Grenades (Punk rock / Alternative rock)
- Enough Enough Enough by Dead! (Punk / Hard rock)
- Run Cold by Diva Destruction (Goth)
- Golden Air by Sun's Signature (Shoegaze)
- Headhunter by db9d9 (Industrial)

Words can’t describe how amazing this album is 😭 but i really do want to discover lots of new music, language doesn’t really bother me so please, feel free to suggest anything 🙂

I've been getting into bossa nova recently that guitar is just too delicous lowkey. Was wondering if anyone had any recomendations form the genre other then Gilberto

just made a blog entry talking about the albums i listened to in june and what i thought of them, feel free to check out and send me recs
my.quenq.com/b/98

Might be one of the greatest jazz albums of all time I cant believe I just listened to this jazz vibraphone is hella underrated cause it doesn't usually stick out in the mix but they always add such a cool timbre.

In the event any of you are into industrial rock / electronic, the song Headhunter from db9d9's self titles album is seriously underrated. It's the perfect alternative club song, it makes me feel like Blade or something

PLEAAAAAASE listen to malice mizer I cant explain how good of a band they are they just are !!! So many of their songs are peak ♡ theres also Moi Dix Mois which has a VERY similar vibe !!

Im new to this but id love to hear your guys recomendations :D
(ill give yall a review too!)

If you're an Apple Music user, on desktop you can use the built-in visualiser with Window -> Visualiser. It defaults to a modern style but you can change it to a classic media player style with Window -> Visualiser Options.

just finished listening to Pomodorosa's self titled album! Check this out if you like Lamp or just Japanese music with Bossa Nova influences. It's a very calm album and the singers voice is so soft and soothing. My favorite songs off the album are ヘア・ワックスは嫌い and Paraplui Rouge, with the former having a really nice tempo change in the middle of the song.

If you like visual kei I highly recommend checking out Ange Roses, they are fairly more unknown cause I’ve never seen anyone mention them before.
They only have three songs and haven’t been active since 2017 but they are really good, I found them from their song Royal Rose^^

A DSI makes for a legitimately good music player
Sound quality is better than you'd expect, it has shuffle, it can play with the lid closed, you can make playlists, and there are a lot of fun bonus features like the pitch tool and the visualisers
I really recommend it if you want a music player and have a DSI or 3DS lying around

Operation Ivy is a band I started listening to a lot recently. They're a ska-punk band, I believe they only have this one album and a couple of live albums, the band's career only lasted 2 years or so. I think they're great, I discovered them from Green Day's cover of Knowledge :D

Industrial Metal/ Industrial Rock
-
My friend put me onto Snake River Conspiracy, they only have 1 album but I think its incredible and worth a listen if you're into bands like Nine Inch Nails or KMFDM.
