Dolly's bio
I'm an OC superfan and have multiple stories in the works. My main one will hopefully have its first episode released as a webcomic sometime in the near-ish future. I love to write and draw my characters. I also enjoy website development and singing.

This job looks really good. I just hate cover letters lmao. I get so worried I'll do a bad job and won't get an interview.

If you had a YouTube channel--or multiple--what would you post? What vibes and visual elements would it have? Any YouTubers you'd take inspiration from? If you already have a channel, feel free to leave a link! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

I recommend downloading the images you are using and posting them to somewhere like Tumblr or Imgur. Link from those sites instead. Hotlinking straight from the indie sites uses up their bandwidth, anyway.

What does your dream bedroom look like?

These two are the mothers of two of the families in my main story, Dandelion Sun. Their names are Mary (left) and Janet (right). Mary is the mother of Tony, Ally (protag), and Joey. Janet is the mother of Brandy, Lori, Morgan, and Lola and Jack (both protags). They're best friends, despite their very different personalities.
In this, I imagine Mary is hanging out at Janet's house to watch an AFL game. Janet is wearing a jersey for a fake team I made up, the Joeys. I hope it's not a real team, haha.

So many forms of flirting can also be platonic. I remember writing down all the signs of platonic and romantic interest and they were the same. Is it really just based on vibes? I hope not lmfao.

What are your plans for this month?

I want to make this kind of drawing for all the classmates, if not the main families, too. I'm not good at coming up with outfits, but I'm satisfied with this pattern. I'm also a big fan of yellow memo paper and plan to use it for all the backgrounds. It's great for pretending the characters drew on the background.

What would you guys want in the blogs? What would make you actually want to use the blog function? I know this is just The Lounge, but I hope brainstorming ideas in a large group like this will catch the staff's eye. This could be a good opportunity to get some features we'd actually use, so we can make the most of the features already here.
Personally, I think being able to upload multiple images to blogs would be super cool. Inline images as well! I'd love to be able to add pictures to the side of my paragraphs or little decome emotes in my text. We could use this to add cute dividers, headers, and whatnot.
If that isn't possible, just having the opportunity to change text colours would be really neat. I'm unsure how difficult it would be to add entirely custom colours, but even a default set would be nice.
I truly think the blogging function here could be so popular if it just had more stuff. Right now, posts are the most eye-catching things. For me, I'm discouraged to blog when I know I'll get more interaction on posts.
I made a post about this in The Lounge. There, I had to conserve my own suggestions so I could actually ask others what they wanted. Here, I will dump my own ideas for how staff could improve the blogging feature.
- Images. Multiple images would encourage people to post things like comics and really any image sets. Inline images would be even better to break up the walls of text. Dividers, decome, and even just pictures to the side would be great. Alt text is a must if we get this.
- Text colours. Free range to choose any colour would be preferred, but even a nice site-wide palette would be cool. Again, it would break up the text.
- Audio embeds. A much later game feature, if it'll ever be added, but I digress. I think just something like what we have on our profiles.
- Blog background styling. Not necessarily what we have in the posts/profiles, where we can change everything. Even some presets (paper textures, greeting card styles, etc.) would add some fun customisation!
Overall, I think blogs need more than text styling and a higher character limit. Posts garner more interactions because they can be shared in groups, which people already have more control over. Images also tip the scale a lot. I don't want to make posts worse, but I think blogs need to be more inviting than posts overall.
I think blogs should be the main way we talk here. Blogs are where you dump how your day went, while posts are, "My day sucked, lol," or, "Blog is gonna take a little longer."

Hello! I recently made a post in The Lounge, inspired by another user's post, asking what features people would like to see added to Kwenk. Specifically, I was asking about the blogging feature. Although I just posted it, I realised it would be good to have a place dedicated entirely to what we do and don't want on this site.
The group description has a character limit, so I'll throw some conversation starters down here. However, don't feel bound by these. As long as it doesn't break the Kwenk Terms of Service, anything goes!
1. What features do you think are boring, and what would make them more fun?
2. What is something you think would add to the old web revival theme?
3. How do you think we can keep Kwenk unique from other social medias (Bluesky, Insta, etc.)?
4. Any issues with the site as a whole (lag, loading times, etc.)?
5. What are some vague ideas you'd like to see added? Even if you don't know how to implement them!

Personally, my ideal car would have a CD player. I think I would mess with playlists by skipping songs and stuff while driving. Pretty bad distraction. With CDs, I've already curated the playlist. Having less flexibility would force me to skip less and focus on driving more.
That said, I'm a fan of bluetooth speakers. I know most chunky radios come with okay-ish to good speakers and might come with CD/cassette player integration, but I don't want to haul a big speaker around. Bluetooth speakers are so handy.
I don't want bluetooth forced into everything, though. Don't charge me for something I don't want or need. From what I've experienced, modern devices think that quantity is better. It's kind of hard to escape unwanted features and then be charged more for it ಠ_ಠ

When is the best time to shop for formal/prom dresses? As in, how soon in advance should I shop? I want to avoid last-minute buys, but I don't want to buy something too soon and then get upset because I saw something else. I know that's hard to predict, but I assume there is an ideal time frame.
Specifically, I'm looking for vintage (1950s) dress. If the op shop/thrifting gods bless me, I might find something there. If not, I'm happy to scour second-hand listing and even online stores. If you have advice relating to any of those subjects, I would really appreciate you sharing it!
I don't go shopping for fancy clothes, like, ever. Thank you for any help! Hope you all have wonderful weeks.

I'm looking for published books only, so please no (web)comics/manga, fan-fictions, or anything of the like. No hate at all to that stuff. I just want to focus on traditional books for this. if you want, you can DM me any comic/manga recommendations you have!
I welcome both fiction and non-fiction. Interests include:
- Realism
- Philosophy
- Comedy, including dark humor
- Mystery
- Coming-of-age novels, both for young adults and adults
- Chemistry, astronomy, and history
- Dystopias
- Queer representation
- Literally anything focused on hope and belief in humanity/community, despite the horrors
Honestly, these are off the top of my head. Got a favourite book that doesn't fit? Send it my way! All I ask is that there is no explicit sexual content.
Thank you!!

HALVERSE (OC universe):
Dandelion Sun: Six teenagers growing up in an outback town in 1994. Each episode is one day of the year. Covers bullying, identity, familial relationships, crushes, and the wonder of the little things in life. So, so many plotlines. Too many to cover in one paragraph.
Heartstrings and Hairspray: Unrelated spin-off set in the 1980s. Tells the story of a a band's rise to fame and the effects this has on the members' relationships. Oath & Creed was never intended to make it big. What will they do now? Sadly, not really my focus at the moment.
Super Space Sailor: In the Halverse, it's a sci-fi fiction franchise about a human scientist and the twin aliens he teams up with to save Earth. In the 1970s, after our planet is invaded by other aliens collectively known as The Empire, he is appointed as humanity's sacrificial lamb. Could he truly be their last hope?
NON-HALVERSE (all separate universes):
The Butterfly Effect: The year is 1958, and Edith has never felt so deeply. After her family is forced to move to Washington State, she experiences a psychotic episode. Only a daily journal is keeping her doctor from sending her to hospital. When she finds entries from her future, she's forced to wade through the lies of her town, the mystery of the journal, and her own grip on reality.
Rivers of Thyme: Three years prior, Barley's godchild disappeared from her homestead. Everything is lined up to land her in jail, but she knows more than she will ever admit. Trees are shifting, animals are slaughtered in the night, and she has seen far too much to ignore. With only her gun, she is determined to find Thyme, no matter the cost.
Umm, yeah!! I love my OCs #myocs. If you have any questions, please ask! I love to talk about them! Thank yo
I'm absolutely down to make it myself, but I'm an amateur coder. If anyone else wants to run the group, I welcome it. It's not like I own the idea, anyway, haha.
How many people here are into website creation, whether you actually do it or it's just an idea? For those who code, what languages do you prefer? I'm basic and only have a grasp on HTML and CSS. However, I want to wrap my head around JavaScript.

Even if you don't write, what scenarios do you like to think of?
The story follows the lives of six teenage best friends over the year 1994. This story will be a comic. Each episode will be one day of the year, so it's very much a slice-of-life story.
The protagonists are: Renee, Lucas, Ally, Mary-Anne, Lola, and Jack. Lola and Jack are twins. They all live on the same street, Hal Street, which is the northernmost street in Halboro. They're all young teenagers.
Their struggles mostly cover school stresses and interpersonal relationships. These include: exams, bullies, school fights, family fights, and some crushes. However, their biggest struggles come from within themselves. As coming-of-age stories go, they must face change and the reality that the past can never be returned to.
The main setting is a tiny town called Halboro. It's located in southern Queensland state (Australia) and is in the outback! For any of you who know about Queensland geography, it's in south-eastern Balonne Shire. In other words, it's right above the QLD-NSW state border!
Dandelion Sun is intended for mature audiences only. There are lots of content warnings for the story. Of course, only things appropriate for Quenq will be posted here. However, the CWs include: abuse and violence, death, mental and physical illnesses, drugs, bigotry, and lots of foul language. There will be NO explicit sex scenes, even if there are innuendoes and crude jokes. A chunk of the CWs don't apply directly to the protagonists, either.
I encourage questions about the story and characters! I know I haven't given a whole lot here, but I will have more to say in my blog post. I'll also share a link to that here once it's completed! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

And my ultimate favourite: Velvet Crush! I love their album Teenage Symphonies to God. I think the band is pretty niche. I hope I can meet someone else who knows about them! Unfortunately, I've been having a hard time finding their proper discography. I want to listen to their songs in order, but I dunno where to find their other albums.
