One of the tropes that stick with me the most are characters who run away from an obligation that was forced upon them. Emphasis on the running part bc it creates an extra layer of guilt and angst.
These are similar to “humanity’s last hope” characters like Gojo or Mark (Invincible), and ig are kind of like an alternate to “what if things went differently.” Like Mark/Gojo have many times considered giving it all up and just becoming evil.
But anyway this AIN’T ABT THEM. Right now the characters that I’m thinking about are Shinji, Ryland Grace, and Suguru Geto. Something about being doomed to a horrible fate, trying to run, only to find no escape is gut wrenching.
Idk how to explain this properly but does anyone ever randomly gain consciousness? Like for no reason I’ll just be like holy shit I am perceiving the world through my eyes rn and existing in this space.
It’s like those memes with babies or pets gaining sudden awareness ig
I’m pretty nihilistic, meaning I don’t think life has inherent meaning, but I feel like people usually associate nihilism with a negative connotation. I feel like Everything Everywhere All At Once is a good example of nihilism with a positive spin. Although I don’t believe life has meaning, I believe you can make your own meaning. Some people find the thought morbid, but I find it freeing. Like noting matters.. so I can do whatever I want.
I think something that was a gamechanger was realizing I don't have to prove anything to anyone. Other people tend to have expectations for you (especially parents), but the only person's opinion that truly matters is your own.
Inspired by a Fujimoto film adaptation, Look Back, one of the big questions asked is: Why do you draw?
(Highly recommend watching if ur an artist!)
As for my answer.. I guess it’s just in my nature to create.. like breathing. Finishing a piece I’m proud of makes me feel so fulfilled and content. It makes me happy! Art is something I just want to get better and better at - and it comes in so many different forms (so there’s always something new to explore). Art is such an integral part of me, and I love it wholeheartedly.
I wanted to know if anyone has any general fashion tips. I am so curious how fashionable ppl get their unique clothing - I know there’s thrifting, DIY sewing, niche brands. Ig I’m asking where do u get your clothes?
What is a movie/show you feel like everyone needs to watch / changed your life?
Personally, My Hero Academia has a special place in my heart.. def not one I think everyone should watch, but it’s not an overstatement to say it changed my life. I discovered it when I was an insecure middle schooler.. and seeing Deku still striving to be a hero after being put down by his literal hero.. his own mother.. it’s exactly what I needed to see at that point of my life.
Watching Frieren S2 rn and ugh it’s so peak. In a world that keeps getting faster, it’s nice to see an anime about slowing down and cherishing the little things. The episodes are all so deep and soul-healing.. it’s just.. so peak..
I've seen memes of it but SIGH - I am so envious of animals. Likeee they literally don't have to pay taxes ughhh - when a cat oversleeps its cute but WHEN I DO IT---
