I love Bunch of Friends on YT! They are a friend group that lives together and makes silly vlogs every week. In an interview, they described their channel as a situational comedy. Their vids are chock full of bits and unseriousness. You may have heard of them from the deaf, blind, mute, stuck in the arctic challenge. My favorite member is probably Coy, I think he’s rlly funny and witty, but I love all the members so much. Just a rant abt my fave channel rn ^-^
What’s something u think everyone shld do at least once in their life?
I think making a piece of clothing from scratch would benefit everyone and really put into perspective where our clothes come from. Also to lessen the divide between production and consumption..
Is the loneliness epidemic getting to anyone else? 🥲
There’s the quote “being alone is better than being with bad company” but what if bad company don’t even want u dawg 😭✌️
There’s “don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm” but in the past, even tho it’s hella toxic I preferred keeping people that weren’t the best around just to not be alone.
I love YouTube ASMR esp when ppl get creative and add fun themes like fantasy or historical. I particularly love the spa ones where they pamper u or do ur makeup. Any recs?
I’m curious if anyone in a culture that centers around spicy food doesn’t like spicy food. Do u just have to get used to it or constantly ask for accommodations?
Sometimes I think abt how posting on your story feels so detached from a DM or group chat. Sometimes I see friends stories and I mentally can’t differentiate them from influencers. I don't like it… 😔
I’ve been going to NY recently and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for stuff to do/places to go. NY is such a magical place it feels like anything can happen there. My favorite part is the public transport system I hate driving with a burning passion 🙏
What r ur experiences/thoughts on the Big Apple?
I will say seeing homeless people makes me feel so bad for them. Like even if I wanted to donate, there’s a risk to interacting with them :(.
When I rode the subway I noticed they had cameras installed for ur safety, which I’ve never seen before. Maybe this is the Mamdani effect. Smth else I love is how art is everywhere - like murals and street art, museums, local businesses, etc.
The city is genuinely alive in the best/worst way.
I know this wld be better with pictures but I don’t feel like attaching any. I saw this store on insta that sells a lot of goods created by artists in China called Poemo (NY) and it’s SO COOL. I just wanted to yap about this one baseball cap I got with cat ears and anime eyes.. and also this cute retro themed tapestry I got. It’s all nostalgic themed with Japanese memorabilia scattered throughout the art.. but the thing that’s most interesting is that it tells a sad story despite being rlly cute art. In the art, a girl is trying to call her dead friend, who as a ghost is next to her holding a phone. 😭 Throughout the piece is more storytelling in props like a voodoo doll of the dead friend, crystal ball, books/candles related to death. So tragic yet adorable.. Cute/sad art is such a combo.
Something I struggle to come to terms with is that I don’t like everyone, and not everyone likes me.
I have some friends that I’m not that close with, but they still ask to hang out once in a blue moon. Tbh, I don’t really want to hang out with them, but don’t know how to really tell them without hurting their feelings. I feel guilty for not wanting to be friends with them, but I suppose it can’t be helped. Part of why is because we have very different interests and lives, plus they don’t particularly try to keep in touch. In truth, I don’t know if we’ll even hang out again, cuz they’re pretty busy and last time someone tried to organize smth, schedules did not align (which I was acc relieved for 😭). Right now, I’m just not saying anything in the group chats, not that they’re very active anyway. It’s been hard for me to accept that I just don’t click with them, I feel like I try hard to click with anyone who’s nice to me/hangs out with me because I’m desperate for human connection but I just need to make friends that I don’t feel confused about (not to say I don’t, I’m very thankful I do).
As for people not liking me, I feel hypocritical because I’m really bad at handling rejection. This one friend I was relatively close to suddenly told me they didn’t want to be friends and it really upset me. Obviously, my relationship with diff friends are different, but aren’t I the same? I was friends with some people and then I slowly realized I didn’t want to be friends with them anymore. So why am I so bitter about it?
This is just a ramble but feel free to comment, wld love to hear ur input
Semi-related to my last post, I don’t understand people who are very casual about friendships. I guess I seek more intimate connections and maybe have a different attachment style? I’m curious if anyone has input on this ><
For me it’s kind of an all or nothing deal, like we’re either close friends or not friends at all.
Have u ever had an epiphany, aka a life changing realization?
For a long time, I thought no one thought very philosophically like me until I met someone who did and realized there were people like me out there. Like Shinji-style in that one scene, I felt my world grow larger after that.
This other one sounds kinda dumb but I took a fashion class in high school and it blew my mind. Ig I never thought abt how clothes are made, and how a lot of things r rlly just prices of fabric sewn together by thread.
When I enter the shower, it’s like I entered a liminal space where time works differently. Maybe it’s the sound of water or the fact that I’m so alone w my thoughts, but it feels so surreal. Like I get so easily lost in thought and lose track of how long I’ve been showering. Do yall relate or..
The thing is, I feel lonely often bc my friends r busy so I’ve tried going to the park or the mall alone. It was alright, but I couldn’t help but wish someone were with me.
Is mastering the art of being alone possible? I just don’t like that I have to do it out of necessity and not of my own volition. 😔
I like to imagine being an action hero sometimes - slinging bullets, clanging katanas, smoking cigs - so cool! Movie moments r so auraful i wish i cld be cool like that!!
Has anything movie-like ever happened to u irl? Or what scenarios do u like to imagine yourself in?
I rlly badly want to get rlly good advice at a bar by some random stranger that changes my life forever. Or walk away from an explosion.
I feel like this may come across kinda preachy, but I don't understand people who don't add to a conversation. Like sometimes it feels like talking to a brick wall.
I used to think maybe these people just didn't like me for some reason, but I think they're just like that. They just don't have any thoughts to add ig. I also don't get people who don't seem to have a sense of curiosity. I feel like they don't question anything, and that's so wild to me because that's like ALL I DO.
Guess I'm just a thought daughter,,, but it makes me feel alienated sometimes bc I am just such a lover of deep and interesting convos.
Randomly thought abt how Angel Devil (CSM) was talking about their lack of motivation and how "even eating takes energy." Which sounds funny but lowkey I never thought about that. But it is trueee like even just lifting the food to your mouth and chewing requires effort.
